> Thanks!!! I am looking forward to learning tonnes of
information!!!!
> Krista

Hello Krista,

I'm mainly writing to say that I'm so impressed by the care you are
giving your son, but also wanted to offer a few other suggestions.:

- Do you use a filter for his bathing water?
- Have you tried bathing him in salt water?
- Have you tried to use organic 100% whole leaf aloe gel - applied
daily?
Aloe is very effective against both eczema and psoriasis. (Lily of the
Desert makes great whole leaf organic aloe vera gel - I have no
<!--more-->
financial
interest in this product, but found it a miracle cure for a host of
skin ailments.)
- You mentioned Leif loves fruits. Are you giving him organic,
pesticide-free produce?
Also is the meat organic?
- Have you investigate home/and or daycare environmental issues such
as mold, dust, etc? (There are inexpensive and simple ways to test
for molds.)
- Do you take him to swimming pools? (I'm sure your aware that
chlorine, ammonia and other antimicrobial chemicals can aggravate
skin conditions.)
- Have you considered cutting all sugar/processed/additives from his
diet?

It sounds like your on your way to discovering how to cure your son.
Keep up the great work! I send my prayers to you for finding a cure
soon!

Norie

(just noticed some tips already given by others --- in any case, best
wishes!)

Could your baby have an immune problem? I have bad eczema and discovered I
have a low immune system. The reason I ask is that you mentioned a few
infections in there which is a symptom of low immune system.

In answer to the question posted on Protopic. I recently used it (under the
name Elidel) and at first I didn't see that it helped but then I was given
some samples by another Dr. and it did help and it's supposed to be safer
than previous creams I have used. Though for the moment I am not using it and
you'll read next why.

I find it interesting that someone mentioned Chiropractic (did I say that
right, haha). I am currently seeing one and she just started me on a detox
program and I will then start a strict diet. We'll see in a couple of months
if I improve. She revealed additionals allergies that I didn't know of, one
being white flour and of course that's something I used to eat all the time.
<!--more-->
The other being Dairy which I started to suspect. She also pinpointed the
immune problem and was accurate on a previous allergy that I did know
about..........so I think I have become a believer and I am willing to try
her program (which includes detox, diet and adjustments) and hope that it
helps. All the many regular Drs I have seen haven't helped me yet.

Take Care all!

Oh Skyra how frustrating this must be!! Those darn doctors! Aren't they a
pain! Well I don't know what to recommend, sounds like you've tried it all!
Tea tree, Calendula, natural soaps...how about a lavender oil? It's just kind
of a cure all for skin conditions. Keep us posted!
Skyra wrote: I just joined this list this evening after the first and LAST
visit to our
regional dermatologist. My son, 22months, has a skin condition that has
been diagnosed as 4 different conditions by as many doctors. I don't know
why I build myself up each time to believe that they will have an answer
for me. Afterall, none of them have spent more than 10 minutes with us,
and in that 10 minutes, they have spent less than 30 seconds actually
looking at the spots. We don't use the medical system under normal
circumstances, so I don't know what possessed me to believe that the god
doctors would be of help this time. Unfortunately, we live in an area
where homeopaths and naturopaths are several hours away, and after calling
<!--more-->
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, I haven't found anyone that is willing to do
anything beyond muscle testing (as far as allergy testing goes), or have
admitted to me that they do use steroids to clear up many skin infections.

Anyhow, here is the low down....

*Leif has NEVER been vaccinated
*I believe he has a sensitivity or allergy to some part of dairy (I
consumed NO dairy from 5-12ths)
*the Dr did "allow" me to have several things tested for
allergies....dairy, corn, wheat, cat and dog dander, soy and eggs...all
came back negative for allergies
*we have now been dairy free since just after easter...with only a few
slip-ups on my part
*he was exclusively breastfed until 8mths and is still breastfeeding (with
no intentions of weaning anytime soon)
*he has never had antibiotics (nor have I since before I was pregnant with him)
*he does eat meat, is not really interested in carbs, LOVES fruit, likes
vegetables
*has had homeopaths, colloidal silver and grapefruit seed extract for
various illnesses/preventative
*as far as treating his skin condition
-we first tried a .5% hydrocortisone steroid
-tried a urea cream (in very very small amounts, and for a very short time
-have tried miracle salve (calendula, comfrey, chickweed, chamomile,
plantain, lavender, olive oil and beeswax)
-hydrophilic petrolate
-hydrophilic petrolate mixed with tea tree oil and phytocort
-phytocort (glycerine, cetyl, aqua purificata, prage oil, vitamin E,
Vitamin A, Vitamin C, bioflavoniods, calendula, chamomilla,
viola tricolor, rosa canina, echinecea, te tree and sorbin acid)
-tea tree oil mixed with miracle salve for when it gets infected (has
happened several times on his cheeks)
-at present I am using phytocort directly on the spots, and then putting
lotion all over his body. I have ordered all natural soaps (rather than
detergent bars) natural lotion, Dr. Bronners soap to wash his clothes in
*it has been diagnosed as...
-skin infection...RX for antibiotics. Threw the prescription out
-mystery fungal infection...RX for anti fungal and another for a
steroid. Threw the prescription out (afterall, I was using tea tree
and that wasn't touching it)
-possible eczema, but it looks like you have it under control, so don't
worry about it!! (thanks doc!!)
-psoriasis (just today), given an RX for desonide for his face and a
blend of a tar/steroid concoction for his body. Will not fill.

I do NOT believe that this is psoriasis that we are dealing with. For
months I have been researching and looking at pictures of different skin
conditions. This is presenting (IMNSHO) as discoid/nummular eczema. UGH,
my brain hurts!! LOL...I know that there is more I want to write, but I
have totally blanked.

My nephew (on my DHs side) had this exact same condition, it was diagnoses
as eczema, and was treated by a naturopath successfully. I am working on
getting in to that naturopath. In the meantime, can anyone recommend
anything else that I can try, or recommend anything that I have missed?

I attached a picture of what his face looked like at the very beginning of
this rollercoaster. It has now spread to both cheeks, both arms and both
legs (upper and lower parts of the limbs.

Thanks!!! I am looking forward to learning tonnes of information!!!!

How much credence is there to the theory that through chiropractics you can
cure eczema and psoriasis?

"All people who suffer from eczema have a pelvis lowered on the right and
are always standing on the right leg (true or false short leg) and the
first rib is always posteriorised on the right and subluxed. All the people
who suffer from psoriasis have a pelvis lowered on the left and are always
standing on the left leg (true or false short leg). In addition to the
first thoracic segment, we find articular restrictions in close connection
with the metameric territories where the lesions are, but an element makes
all the difference:
· the liver is concerned in eczema, by the direction of rotation of T9
· the pancreas is in the psoriasis, by the opposite direction of
rotation of T9 "

<!--more-->
I would be interested in hearing if anyone has any experience with this.

>- parasite killing herbs

do you have some examples of herbs that are parasite killing and are
toddler friendly?

>- probiotics.

acidopilus and bifidus?? Any others I should know of? Are there any dairy
free sources that you know of (no casien, rennet, whey, lactose etc)

>Check also the water quality!

fortunately, we have some of the best water in Canada!! No chlorine in
this water!!!! We have a brand spankin new filtration system in place
here. DH knows all about it...but it is way over my head!! LOL
<!--more-->

>Also, make cottage cheese + flaxseed oil and try to feed him.

No go...we don't do any dairy. Is there something in the cottage cheese
that is helpful, or is it just the flaxseed oil that I am trying to get
into him?? We use a lot of Essential Balance oil...so he gets it in that.

Thank you for your suggestions! I am most certainly looking into them!

I would suggest:

- parasite killing herbs
- probiotics.
- digestive enzymes.
- liver herbs

one or all of those things will work within 1-3 weeks.

Adjust quantity by body weight.
If a child is 1/10 of adults' weight, then dose should be 1/10 of adults'
dose.

Check also the water quality!

<!--more-->
Also, make cottage cheese + flaxseed oil and try to feed him.
