Hi to the excemapsoriasis List
I have just been told that I have psoriasis. I didnt even know what this
stuff was…on my foot in one case, both elbows, and bothe knees.
A nice little piece of knowledge to hit you when you are (as I am) the ripe
old age of 61…I had thought if someone were going to get psoriasis it
would be well before they turned 61. wrong.
I am very bummed by this…surprise. The doctor was very cut and dried
about it. Said, "it isnt potentially fatal. It just means you will have to
manage it." He gave me a prescription for Diprolene…Questions ( if you all
are kind enough to answer )…does this mean that it will get steadily worse
and worse throughout the remainder of my life — covering more and more of
my skin? I am a male, healthy and active otherwise…
This diprolene seems to be helping it…and I have been reading what you all
have had to say about diet, lifestyle, etc…very interesting. I joined the
Psoriasis foundation…they sent some rather general material.

Hello & question

Monday, February 3rd, 2003

Hi Lonna,
Thanks for the post. I have not tried any of the natural type
remedies because I also have a lot of allergies including foods
and other ingredients used in natural products and vitamins. I
have been on a lo-carb diet and have found great relief in my
skin condition and my joint pain. Does anyone else here have the
systemic type problems such as arthritis and connective tissue
problems that can be associated with Psoriasis? My Doc says I
have immflamitory arthritis along with the Psoriasis. My
Psoriasis started when I was 12. It has taken this long to get
it diagnosed correctly. My mom has Rheumatoid Arthritis and
Sjorgens syndrome. My Dr wants to treat me in a more aggressive
manner with a new medication to keep the more serious autoimmune
connective tissue problems from coming on so soon.

We said we’d all share our treatment secrets, right? Well, I have to say
that going to the tanning bed for 15 minutes at a time, once a week, is
helping me tremendously. And my dermatologist suggested it for me, too. I
can see healing all over, and a lot of the newer spots of p on my legs have
cleared up completely. I think that it will keep helping, although it may
not clear it up 100%.

Just food for thought.

Hi, my name is Airika and I am new to this list.
I’m 124, and the reason I joined this list was because I’ve been having acne
for a long time, and I think it’s getting worse.
I hope anyone is willing to help me! Thanks

Airika
