toxin free toiletries
<<
Hi Olivia, I was wondering what toiletries were good. And how you
found out what was good and what wasn’t.
Thanks for your imput,

Hi Natasya
I get my toiletries from a company called Neways - it is all mail order. If
you are in the US then I think you can order through their website
(www.neways.com) - or in the UK then their phone number is 01480 861 764 (I
am in the UK). I buy the products wholesale because that makes it much
cheaper. All Neways products are safe - not tested on animals and not full
of toxins.
I read an article which listed some of the toxins which are often put in our
toiletries and then went to my bathroom and couldn’t believe that they were
in my products which were meant to be good and safe for sensitive skin. I
have copied out some of the ingredients the article listed below:-
Sodium Lauryl Sulphate:- an industrial degreaser which is found in shampoos,
hair conditioners and toothpastes. It can damage eye tissue, especially in
children, cause skin rashes, hair loss and flaking skin. When combined with
other ingredients it is carcinogenic and can lodge itself in the heart,
lungs, liver and brain.
Propylene Glycol:- a major ingredient in brake fluid, antifreeze, floor was,
paint and varnish which causes liver abnormalities and kidney damage
Petrolatum (also known as mineral oil jelly, liquid vaseline and baby oil) :-
can cause photosensitivity and strips the natural oils from the skin, causing
chapping and dryness. Prevents elimination of toxins and can cause acne
Alcohol:- a poisonous solvent which can cause nausea, vomititing, headaches,
flushing and depression. Also dries skina and hair and creates cracks and
fissures in the skin which encourages bacterial growth.
DEA, MEA, TEA:- cause allergic reactions, irritate the eyes and dry the hair
and skin. carcinogenic to the kidney and liver.
Apparantly, these products have been used for years and were initially used
before all ingredients were subjected to the sort of tests used today and so
they have sort of slipped in via the back door (if you see what I mean).
Anyway, I just stick clear of them and am sure that it is doing me good!
If you do place an order and Neways ask you for the i.d. number of the person
who recommended them to you - my id number is 2001 19086. They are very
helpful and may well be able to advise on products recommended for sensitive
skins.
I would be really interested to hear if anyone else tries this approach and
has any success with it as I do not know if it is this that has helped my
eczema so radically. Please let me know if you give it a go.
Best wishes
Olivia

Just one more thing!
The other reason why I decided to give this a go was because these safe
products are no more expensive than the ones I used to use - so it seemed
silly not to try it. I might have thought twice if the products had been
horrendously expensive - but they aren’t.
Best wishes again

I looked up that website and it’s some multi-level marketing gimmick. I
think I’ll buy my products from a legitimate retailer. Some of you may want
to try www.wholepeople.com or www.mothernature.com
