Urticaria/Eczema

Saturday, June 28th, 2003

I’m not sure who wrote about the urticaria turning into eczema, but I have
the same thing. I get urticaria from heat, exercise or stress. It’s called
Cholinergic Urticaria. Basically, anything that causes me to sweat will
give me urticaria (hives, but they don’t really look like hives).

I take anti-histamines, but they don’t work that well. I also eat garlic
and onions. Natasya, what was your point regarding the garlic?

If any of you have similar experiences, please share. I’ll be happy to
share my stories. Thank you.

treatments

Tuesday, June 24th, 2003

When my whole body was covered, I discovered Curel fragrence free
right out of the shower totally eliminated it. But now, ten years
later, it’s on my hands and it’s disgusting. I have to wash my hands
alot and wear gloves. I had mentioned using "derma zinc" before.
It’s really working, it looks a little better, but thank goodness, my
hands are no longer painful. My husband jokingly calls my eczema
"leprocy". Real Funny Guy!!
I hope I can wear rings again some day………

I’m New

Saturday, June 21st, 2003

Hi. I have terrible eczema on my hands. When they are wet, I get
about two million disgusting pus bubbles all over them. Like some of
you, I have been to dermatologists that prescibe ineffective creams,
and tell me "not to sweat". I wear cotton gloves alot, I look like
I’m seriously obsessive!!!!
I recently purchased a product off the web, "Derma Zinc". Has anyone
tried it? There is a spray, a cream and soap. I have all three and
have been using it. It does help, but not as well as I’d like. I
still have to do dishes and what not, I have small children so my
hands are always working, maybe that’s why it’s not working as fast
as
I’d like.
Any comments/suggestions?

Hi I’m new

Friday, June 20th, 2003

My name is Holly and I have been living with psoriasis for 7 years
now. I have tried most of the topicals without much luck. I use
clobetasol right now and it works fairly descent. I want to try
methotrexate but have to wait because I am having surgery soon. My
dad has psoriasis and has had it for many years. He has tried
everything and has had no luck. I hope maybe I can hear about new
treatments with you guys and learn a few new things! The only thing
that has ever worked totally on me is skin cap but of course you all
probably know that we can’t get that any more. :( I had a few months
psoriasis free with that medicine god it was heaven LOL. Well I guess
I have rambled long enough LOL! Hope everyone is in good health! God
bless!

Has anyone tried Emu Oil?

Friday, June 20th, 2003

I just picked up a small bottle of Emu Oil and heard it took care of
dermatological issues like the eczema that I’ve been stuck with for
the past 20 years. I’ve begun to use it, applying sparingly as it is
very oily, for the past week. I’ve gotten some relief but was
curious if anyone else has gotten better results. Thanks!

eczema getting much better

Wednesday, June 18th, 2003

I have just started on a research study for a topically applied
ointment containing tacrolimus(an immunosuppressant that has been
proven in previous studies to not be absorbed into the blood stream.)
On Tuesday, I will go for my one month check up. Granted, I am not
normal yet…..but, the improvement is remarkable. I can actually
tolerate day to day life now….without crying and being sad because
I look like a monster.

Keloid problem

Tuesday, June 17th, 2003

Can we talk about keloid in this mailing list?
Because I have this problem and everytime I got cut on my skin I
have to extra careful to handle it so it won’t grow as keloid.
But, sometimes the keloids still appear n they feels itchy and
everytime I forgot and scratch, they grow bigger and more itchy
and looks really bad.

I tried to treat them at the dermatologist and she gave me injection
on the keloid that hurts alot, and still I have to return several
times to control them (with another injection of course).
But everytime I forgot or if I didn’t have time to go to the doctor,
they grow bigger again, sometimes even if I don’t touch them at all.

I want to cure this skin problem forever, but some people says that
remove them by operation also risk bigger keloid. Do you have

anemia

Friday, June 13th, 2003

To whom it may concern,

My name is shaheen ahmad and I am 21 years of age. Recently I had a baby,
who is about 11 months old. During my pregnancy, my eczema went really bad,
worse than before. I had oozing, clear liquid from my hands, and all over my
body. Why would you say this is ?

Also, during my pregnancy, my heamoglobin level was about 7.. After I had a
baby I lost alot of blood, my heamoglobin level became 6.4, I refused the
blood transfusion I was offered and accepted the iron tablets instead. Even
now I still get really waek, dizzy and tired. I still have oozing, clear
liquid from certain parts of my body because of my eczema.
