acne andeczema testimonies
Hi I’m new to this group.
I’ve checked the archives, and I haven’t found the testimonials I was
looking for. Do any of you have cured your acne and eczema? If so,
could you please post your testimonial?
I’ve tried flaxseed oil (2 tbsp a day of oil) for several months, and
the little patches of eczema I have on my hands are still the same
size. I have a very good diet though. My eczema is hereditary, it
runs in my family.
Any way, I’m waiting for your testimonials.
Thank you for your help,
Clarity

Hi. This is my testimoney(at least some of it). Let me just say that these
things have worked for me, and you have to remember that each situation is
different. Until a couple of months ago I had been on birth control pills
for about 5 years. Then when I stopped them, I developed eczema. Imagine my
surpise; until then I had the smoothest, clearest chesnut brown skin, even
through puberty I rarely had pimples; people used to always comment to
me,"who does your makeup? it’s flawless!," only I wore no makeup, that’s how
clear and smooth my skin was(my entire body). Anyhow I stopped the
pill(orthotricyclen) and immediately began having skin problems, on my
hands, face, back, stomach, chest, and legs. That’s when I began seeing a
dermatologist and he prescribed steroids(usually decadron) to clear up the
eczema patches. Well as most of you know by now steroids only offer a
temporary solution, and it has awful long term side effects. Well I
experienced those side effects such as weight gain, rebound flare-ups and
acne as soon as I stopped them. Also I developed several allergies, to
latex, detergents, perfumes, plants, hay fever, etc. I was repeatedly going
to the drmatologist for steroids and finally I had the sense to say to
myself,"Self, there has to be something better." So I hopped on the internet
and started doing research. Well all ya’ll know that there is a WEALTH of
info out there. I found one great website and began many of the tips, hints,
etc it listed. It suggested that for some eczema develops as a result of
internal problems caused by the pill. This is getting to be long so let me
say that here is a short list of things I began doing:
1. Began taking various supplements including but not limited to Flax,
Borage, Garlic, Vit E, Vit B complex, Vit C, Biotin, Probiotics.
2. Putting a cup of apple cider vinegar in with my bathwater(it helps w/ the
pH and neutrilizing chlorine and helps make your skin oh-so-soft). Prior to
doing this I could not take a shower/bath without my skin feeling like it
was on FIRE. I use CETAPHIL soap and lotion and NIVEA skin creme for
cleaning and moisterizing. I also use a apple cider vinegar solution as a
toner on my face before i put lotion on it(it’s cheap and no where as harsh
as commercial toners).
3. Using DREFT detergent(way less than the box recommends) for washing my
clothes. Running the clothes through 2-3 rinse cycles and adding a cup of
vinegar to the rinse cycles(usually just one of them) to help rinse all of
the soap out of them.
4. Changed my diet to where I’m eating less sugar, yeast, etc.
I have been doing all of these plus some other minor things and let me tell
you, my skin looks at least 70-75% better. I still itch sometimes but it is
definitely not like it used to be( I even used to scratch in my sleep
causing me to bleed all over the bedsheets and had digusting skin flakes
everywhere-yuck). My skin, hair and nails look better and I just feel
sooooooo much better. People are noticing the change for the better. Did I
mention that I just started doing these things about 2 months ago?
