Mahonia aquifolium or Proteque or Skin-e-dip
Has anyone had any experience using Mahonia aquifolium or Proteque
for severe atopic dermatitis? What about Skin-e-dip?
thanks
Jeffrey

Jeffrey, while I have not had any personal experience with any
of these, my Herb Data Disk has the following information:
Oregon Grape root (Mahonia aquifolium) Rocky Mountain grape
Used For: Scrofulous & chronic skin disorders, constipation,
rheumatism, acne, eczema, herpes, psoriasis, dry skin, restores
skin to a smooth, clear condition.
Seems like it would be a good thing to try.

I’m sorry. I did not include the dosage because I thought you would
be buying the extract or capsules and the recommended dosage would
therefore be printed on the label. However, if you are making your
own decoction using the chopped root, the instructions for that are as
follows:
Oregon Grape root (Mahonia aquifolium) Rocky Mountain grape
Used For: Scrofulous & chronic skin disorders, constipation,
rheumatism, acne, eczema, herpes, psoriasis, dry skin, restores
skin to a smooth, clear condition.
Decoction: Add 1 teaspoon root to 1 cup boiling water, reduce heat
and simmer for 30 minutes. Drink a mouthful 3 to 6 times a day.
Hope this helps,
