Colon
irrigation may help greatly in enhancing the ability to absorb many
vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids.

In our
medical clinic we find colonic irrigations are one of the most
important treatment modalities available for a multitude of health
problems. Many health authorities feel that disease begins in the
colon. To be in optimum health the colon must be functioning normally.
I believe that the colon is one of the most neglected areas in the
medical establishment. One of the major indications for colon
hydrotherapy is constipation. Before discussing the effects of
constipation, I will first give a description of how a colonic
irrigation is carried out (some technical aspects about the colonic
machine) and what some of the benefits would be from such a

Eating right

Saturday, August 30th, 2003

My father has psoriasis and I just bought him the “Eat Right For Your Type”
book.  His blood type is O.  It says that it is crucial that he eats red
meat, but isn’t that terrible for psoriasis?  Has anyone followed that diet?

Please give me feedback, thanks!!

Seborhheic Dermatitis

Saturday, August 30th, 2003

I have been diagnosed with this and told that there is no confirmed
cause - and no cure. This does not bother me a lot because I tend to
believe that whatever my MD may tell me should be taken with a bag of
salt. I have been taking flax seed oil for essential fatty acids,
along with vitamins/minerals. I have read that some people may have a
problems producing the enzyme that makes GLA from it’s precursor
oils, and thus cannot get the GLA they need. I am looking for any
experiences that some of you may have had with correcting the problem
through diet/herbal methods.

Valisome

Wednesday, August 27th, 2003

Thought I’d share about the medicine that cured my Dad’s eczema about
25 years ago. He had a severe case and unusual in that it was on the
palms of his hands. After several years of trying unsuccessful
treatments, a doctor prescribed Valisome for him, and his eczema
disappeared within a few days. I don’t anything about Valisome, like
whether it is still used today or if they later discovered it was
unsafe. But my dad still talks about this miracle cure with great
appreciation.

allergies and skin problems

Tuesday, August 26th, 2003

I don’t have eczema or psoriasis like most people on this board, but
I have experience with some things people have mentioned and thought
I might contribute. I inherited allergies and skin problems from my
father. I developed acne in high school. It was well-controlled by
antibiotics until I could no longer tolerate any antibiotics.
Unfortunately, I now have chronic candidiasis and food and inhalant
allergies. I recently began an aggressive treatment of candidiasis–
my acne began clearing within a few days. My face is definitely not
clear, but there is a huge improvement. I would definitely recommend
special diet and anti-fungal medication for people with chronic skin
problems.

There has been talk about allergies–I am on a rotational diet, eat
all organic food and meat and avoid foods I’m allergic to. There is
an allergy test where they draw blood and then react the blood sample

Beneficial Bacteria (Probiotics) May Halt Allergies In Babies

Giving soon-to-be mothers and newborns doses of "good" bacteria may help
prevent
childhood allergies, new research suggests. Allergy experts say they offer the
first good evidence that harmless bacteria can train infants’ immune systems to
resist allergic reactions.

Researchers in Finland used a type of bacteria found naturally in the
gut–called Lactobacillus GG (Lactobacillus rhamnosus), which is safe at an
early age and effective in treatment of allergic inflammation and food
allergy–to try to prevent allergy development in at-risk infants.

Cultured bacteria that can potentially promote health are called probiotics.
Investigators gave a group of pregnant women probiotic capsules every day for a

Why Farmers Use Hormones

Monday, August 25th, 2003

By Larry Klein

The present system of food and agriculture in America is based on three
premises:

1. Food should be cheap
2. Farming is something that people do not want to do.
3. We should not have to spend our time deciding what foods are good for us and
for the land.

These premises have led to a system of agriculture characterized by extensive
and highly mechanized monoculture of corn and soybeans, cheap because of
overproduction, but dear in the toll on the land and human health.
Overproduction dates from the years when government-funded irrigation projects
