Elidel

I just read this article about Elidel, I pasted the link below…I know the
topic was once brought up not too long ago. I think I had some improvement
with Elidel but I had trouble getting coverage for my last prescription for
it and it has been sitting in the pharmacy for about two months now. I
ended up using over the counter Hydrocortisone, just because I needed
something. How does over the counter creams compare to prescribed creams,
and how safe is it (compared to steroid creams?). Any advice would be
helpful….thanks.

i just left the derms office today and was told that elidel was not
pulled from the market….was it or wasn’t it?

I believe the issue is not that Elidel will be pulled off the
market, but that it should, from now on(?), have a black label on
the box warning about the risk of cancer(?).

Whatever action the Advisory Panel and the FDA takes,
it should apply to both Elidel and Protopic as they
are both immunomoduatorsl. Unfortunately, the panel
that advised the FDA on Vioxx and Celebrax (not
pertaining to Psoriasis/Eczema) had ten members
closely associated with the manufacturers of those
drugs and if their votes were discarded, the
continuation of those drugs on the market would not
    have been approved.
