Hello Krista,

I’m mainly writing to say that I’m so impressed by the care you are giving
your son., but also wanted to offer a few other suggestions.:

- Do you use a filter for his bathing water?
- Have you tried bathing him in salt water?
- Have you tried to use organic 100% whole leaf aloe gel - applied daily?
Aloe is very effective against both eczema and psoriasis. (Lily of the
Desert makes great whole leaf organic aloe vera gel - I have no financial
interest in this product, but found it a miracle cure for a host of skin
ailments.)

Fwd: [eczemapsoriasis] Aquaphor by Eucerin? Re: steroid creams

Wednesday, February 25th, 2004

yes, it says from the makers of Eucerin….but I get it from the pharmacy.
it’s usually about $17 for the tub, and it also comes in a smaller tube that
I have only seen sometimes. I did go to CVS and I saw the one that someone
else had mentioned, it’s the exact same thing just the CVS brand and cheaper.
(I’ll probably get that one next time). I just haven’t shopped in CVS too
much since I moved south, I used to back at home but they must not have
carried this product yet.

Frustrated by a case of contageous psoriasis/eczema/dermatitis

Wednesday, February 25th, 2004

I’m not quite sure when my problem started but I know I’ve had it
for a few years now. Doctors have treated me for yeast infections
and psoriasis/enzema without satisfactory results. I seem to have
psoriasis/enzema on my inner labia and my vulva becomes very red
throughout my cycle. It is very painful since I have tears that
never completely heal. My doctor has tested me for STDs and I test
negative for all of them. I have been very frustrated and confussed
by this especially since I passed it on to my boyfriend. This very
fact made me question whether it was indeed a skin condition…..it
had to be parasitic/fungal/viral/etc. Herbal remedies such as
grapefruit seed extract and teatree oil have helped it a little in
the past but as soon as they are stopped, the problem continues on.
This suggests that it is at least partially due to some sort of
parasite/fungus/etc.
I have recently started to used Triaderm which has made the skin

Grace and Strength…Our Gift!

Monday, February 23rd, 2004

"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." -
Proverbs 24:3-4
As we walk down the road of life we gain wisdom through each experience that
comes our way. As we go through these experiences and circumstances we come to a
fork in the road so to speak, here we must make a choice of how we allow the
experiences in our lives to shape us. They can become a negative or a postive
influence on us. They can make us bitter or jaded, and we judge all else in our
lives against this negative standard we’ve experienced, or we can learn, grow,
mature and become stronger from having gone through them with the proper
perspective. The Lord never guaranteed us an "EASY" life…what He did say was
He would be with us through it all, and He would give us the grace and strength
to go through the struggles. There is a difference between "staying in the
struggle"…and "going through it". As we go through the game of life we can
become "sidelined" on the bench…or we can pick ourselves up off the floor and

new cream

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004

Just so you all know, Protopic and Elidel are one in the same! Just marketed
under different names in different places…in case anyone wanted to know.

I saw an article about it probably a year ago or so and asked my
dermatologist about it…she gave me samples and a prescription. At first I
didn’t think it helped but then when I got the script for it, I used it again
and it did help. After moving to another state I had trouble getting the
script covered here. I kept wanting to use the cream again, but couldn’t get
it. I was also unemployed so I didn’t have the money to pay for it.
Now I don’t get new medical coverage until my trial period is over at my new
job….

I did get a full size sample of a new product from Dermarest, called Eczema
medicated lotion. (gentle enough for face) . It seems to help on my hands
and face.

Oily Skin

Monday, February 16th, 2004

Dear Maddy,

Have you tried Philips Milk of Magnesia? Just put it on
your face (be sure to shake the bottle) for 5 mins and
wash it off. It will lessen your facial oil. I’ve
tried it and it really works! Now though I’m trying to
stick to what my dermatologist is prescribing so I
gave it a rest.

bitsvyk :)
p.s. by the way, my problem is adult acne and what I am
trying now is ClearTouch phototherapy, a newly approved
method by the FDA just this August. If any of you have
tried this, would appreciate some feedback. So far I’ve

Open Letter from World Scientists to All Governments Concerning GMOs

Monday, February 16th, 2004

— In Gettingwell@y…, FWD.

> Open Letter from World Scientists to All Governments Concerning
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs)

> The scientists are extremely concerned about the hazards of GMOs
to biodiversity, food safety, human and animal health, and demand a
moratorium on environmental releases in accordance with the
precautionary principle.

> They are opposed to GM crops that will intensify corporate
monopoly, exacerbate inequality and prevent the essential shift to
sustainable agriculture that can provide food security and health
around the world.

I’m the CORTIZONEQUEEN …

Sunday, February 15th, 2004

I was taking steriods when I was 11 years old, 1971 actually. After
my skin peeled off completely, the doctor gave me prednisone. I took
prednisone until I almost died of congestive heart failure; and THEN
I took MORE! (when I could steal it!)

It’s the most horrible affliction known to mankind, and even worse;
NO ONE understands how horrible it can be! ECZEMA is so horribly
debilitating, no one could imagine. I had no skin on my hands for 6
years! I had "home schooling" in Jr. High school, because I couldn’t
leave my house. I didn’t learn to write with a pen until I was 20
yrs old, because I couldn’t touch the plastic!

Please understand that you are NOT alone if you suffer from eczema,
and if you LOVE someone who suffers … please understand that it is
the worst pain imaginable!
