Oily Skin Cures Anyone? Please Help!!

Sunday, February 15th, 2004

Hello,

I just joined the list in hopes maybe some people out there have suggestions or
products they can recommend. I’m 32/white female.

I am one of those really shiny people, in particular my forehead. I can somehow
tolerate the oil production on the rest of my face but my forehead is hopeless.
Within 8 minutes of leaving the shower (yes I have timed it), I have a new shine
up there.

Unless there are magical make-up lines I’m unaware of, I cannot wear make-up
like most women. I envy often the other women I see…that their faces still
look great at the end of the work day. If I dare to wear cream based foundation
or any form of eye shadow, the oil in my skin will make me look like some kind
of freak within a few hours. I’ve tried the Avon Clearskin anti-shine treatment

steroid creams

Saturday, February 7th, 2004

Thank you for your reply - you have really put me off the steriods.
My condition is not too bad and I can easily put up with it - and maybe it
is better to ignore it and hope tht it will go away rather than use the
steriods - the side-effects sound really scary -
you’ re not the only one to advise aganst it.

drugs…

Prednisone- I would definitely stay away from this drug also. It was the
only thing that would clear up my severe eczema but as soon as I was off it,
I flared up again.
The Drs. kept putting me back on it and it wasn’t good to do that. It makes
you gain weight also and your face "blows up".
I have more problems than ever now and I wonder if all the meds the Drs used
to put me on caused it. I have low immune system now, and food
sensitivities. And nerve damage in my legs (neuropathy), and my skin is more
sensitive than ever.
I was on IVIG for the immune system and got migraines from that.
Now I am trying the "natural" approach. Diet, supplements and exercise, as
well as seeing a chiropractor. The program is through her actually with
something called "Ultraclear". I’ll just have to see whether my immune
system is improving. I have been feeling better overall so far. My skin
still bothers me but it tends to fluctuate, as it always has. But overall is
