raptiva

Monday, April 12th, 2004

Hi,

Has anyone here heard of or even tried this new medicine? I have read that this
is something new and I would like to know if it is available in the market
already. I’m a psoriasis sufferer for almost 10 years now and I’m still trying
to find ways to relieve myself of the symptoms.

Thanks,
Oliver

Hello, I’m the one who posted earlier about the new elidel and my
horrible "rebound." Thanks so much for your helpful responses. I’m
going to try to go back to the derm Monday and see if they can step me
down off the steroids a little more gently. Didn’t even know that was
an option. BTW, going to try to find a new derm around here while I’m
at it.

Thank you again, and I hope you all have a great, itch-free weekend!

do i have eczema

Thursday, April 8th, 2004

I have rosacea but now I’m wondering if i have eczema too. Can
someone please help. I’ve been to several doctors but no one helps.
My face is oily but yet the top layer of my skin is severly dry that
i have to use a thick moisturiser but after a couple of hours i am
blotting oil off my face but my top layer of skin is still dry,
flaky, and cracked looking. When i smile it wrinkles up. It looks
horrible. I have to watch what i put on my face because of the
rosacea. I have tried steriod creams, elidel, AHA, also trying to
rub it off with my fingers but nothing will take it off. If i use
gentle cleanser it gets a build up on top of it. I’ve tried emu oil
and jojoba oil but then after a couple of days it gets leathery. Do
any of u know what this could be? Should I try microdermabrasion or
something?

Thanks

Elidel and post-steroid rebound

Wednesday, April 7th, 2004

Hi, my name’s Kelly. I’m new here. Have had e all my life. Went to the derm
last week (a new one, I recently moved here) and he took me off my steroid
creams (aclovate, cutivate) and put me on Elidel. I’ve been on the steroid
creams FOREVER, none of my previous derms had ever told me about any
bad side effects or "rebound effect" and my new derm didn’t even warn me
about it. Have been reading up on it on the ‘net for the past few hours. So
three days after being off my steroid regime (used to be twice daily), and on
the Elidel, I’m a MESS. I didn’t even go to work today because I feel and look
so miserable. I haven’t been this bad in 10 years or more.

Sooo….my question is: how long does a rebound last? I mean, are we talking
days or months? Is the Elidel supposed to help with a rebound at all? I tried to
call my derm, or at least a nurse practitioner in the office, and they said the
derm didn’t have time to talk to me, and if I had questions, call the
pharmacist,

Hare Krishna Mantra Yoga - Solve All your problems once and for all

Chant
Hare Krishna,
Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna,
Hare Hare
Hare Rama,
Hare Rama
Rama Rama,
Hare Hare

We’ve all heard the Hare Krishna mantra at some time, but what the
heck is so special about this mantra? Why are we supposed to spend
time chanting it? What can it do for us?

Easy, gentle way to remove skin flakes

Saturday, April 3rd, 2004

I finally found a very simple, effective, yet gentle way to remove
skin flakes. I’d like to share this with you, and let me know how it
works.

After washing with whatever gentle cleaner you normally use, do
not dry the area (leave it wet)

Wet 3 or 4 Q-tips with water, and gently ‘buff’ (or polish) the
flakey areas in a circular motion. 10 times is adequate.

Rinse again with water to remove any cotton, skin flakes or other
debris

Dry the area

New Eczema case; would love your input

Friday, April 2nd, 2004

Hi everyone. I just joined after reading some posts on here, and
hope I can get some help. My Eczema started about 5 years ago as a
mild and seasonal condition that occured on the back portion of each
underarm. For the past 18 months, I’ve had it on my face as well,
and more recently, (within the past 5 months), get a flakey, itchy,
bumpy combination on the outer corners of my eyes, my eye lids, under
my eyes, sometimes all places at the same time. After a week or two
the condition gets better, but the look of my skin changes to a
leathery or shiny, burned look.

I’ll state at this point, that I have not been to a dermatologist in
over a year regarding this, in case anyone needs that info or
suggests that I do so. I am very interested in remedies that can
help to either prevent or lessen the symptoms naturally. I hope that
some of you are willing to share with me what does work and what does

at least we can all relate to each other….

Friday, April 2nd, 2004

Hi all,

I am so sorry that we all can relate to each other. I wish none of us had
to deal with eczema (or psoriasis or whatever mystery ailment we have).

Well, I just realized that I haven’t had the nighttime unbearable itchiness
for quite awhile now and it is definitely something I do not miss! It used
to keep me up constantly, and if I was itchy or in pain, I was crying!).

Anyway I did a detox/diet program through my chiropractor. I now avoid flour
and dairy (which she says are my allergies), and chocolate which I thought I
grew out of….I am also allergic to latex. I am still on a somewhat
restricted diet in addition (avoiding foods that are hard on digestion). I
also take a bunch of vitamin supplements.
