thanks everyone, i wrote a few days ago asking about eczema diets,
thanks sooo much i never would have known where to start with cutting
out foods…i am allergic to almost everything though i only had the
skin test when i was little…i was a terrible eczema kid, so don’t
worry moms, it clears up eventually i think i am just a weird case, i
was fine for years until now… uh oh now i am stressing out about
the prednisone, its NOT tapered!! what does that mean?? when i walked
into the doctor’s office, i thought at first that i was just allergic
to the cloxacillin another doc had given me for the infection of the
scratched eczema… i took one pill of prednisone a bit late today
and my skin wasn’t as good as it was yesterday..holy crap though i
don’t think my skin has been this perfect for years, that stuff
really works… should i really try to cut food out?? i c an’t do it
oh my god my mom has put me on her chinese version of the atkins diet
which is even worse than atkins itself…

I am really so sad to hear of your predicament.

Do you have any Chinese herbalists near you? Chinese are good at excema
- and they give you a mixiture of rather nsaty tasting herbs which you make
"tea" with. I saw a Documentary on TV about it - and the results in that case
were magical.
Just holed you nose and get it down!!

When you go to your GP and throw yourself on his mercy - and say ‘look at
me - swollen, cracking, itchy, unhappy…WHAT do you suggest in a holistic
way? Help me! Please.Surely the medical profession can come up with something
better than a few steroid creams which do not work.?’…. the GP might
sugget a whole regime!

Does anyone uses Aqueous cream for moisturising? I was on this cream
but my doctor said it not good so he gave me Epi-Max cream with no
artifical colouring and perfume in it. Its help on my skin and uses
alot as my skin get so dry especially now that is Winter.

Hi,Just wanted to introduced myself.My name is Glenda Aver from South
Africa. I’ve been having eczema since 18 years old now 31. I am on
this new medication called METHOTREXATE and Folic Acid to stop the
side effect. Has anyone try this tablets, does it work and are there
any side effects? Would like to hear from you all.

She had it a bit a birth, but it was mostly just "sensitive" skin until
she was about 5 months. She reacted to egg shortly after her first
birthday, and the allergiest did a blood test to test for the "usual"
allergy culprits - but at that time we were just curious about allergies
in general, and I didn’t know enough to connect food allergies with
eczema (I’ve learned a LOT since then!). We’ve struggled and struggled
with her skin, and finally just recently the allergist had me keep a
food diary, and he basically tested her for everything she eats (which,
as a three year old, is not much).

The Immunocap RAST test is the most accurate blood test for children.
They say skin testing is not very accurate when you have e. - you have
to be really clear to do it, and I don’t think Sarah has EVER been
really clear, except after the steroids. Also, antihistamines don’t
interfere with a blood test, so you don’t have to take them off their

Hi Folks,
My psoriasis is going away….yea! I found something that is
helping me and wanted to share it with the group since I’ve seen so many
messages about diet. I’m trying a product called Primal Defense. Do a search on
it and read for yourself. It’s helping me….that’s all I can say. Good
luck……

hi everyone, what a nice group to have online, the eczema listserv is good
too…i am having such a terrible breakout right now, first weepy sores on my
and the whole itching thing…i think it is all stress induced, esp. during
school… about every 2 months or so it happens, i get red-faced, look
positively ill, get weepy sores on my arms and scalp that seem to just APPEAR
without me even scratching… this time the doc put me on cylosporin/antibiotics
for the infected wounds, and atarax/antihistimine for the itching..things
haven’t gotten better so he jsut put me on prednisone, 50 mg!! isn’t that a bit
high?? anyways, i am wondering if there is a diet i can follow, does anyone out
there know what i should avoid eating?? also a cream for the face would be good,
it feels like a slab of meat right now i am so sore from scratching it over and
over agian with a towel… pls heeelp.. thx… i keep using creams, even
cetaphil and it just ate up my skin should i use olive oil or something instead?

My Name is Jockel and I’m a 38 years old from Germany. I’m suffering
from psoriasis (?) - plenty of different diagnosises fro different derms -
since I’m 12. Does anybody heard in this group of "Embrel"? Does anybody
use it?
