There is no such thing as Chinese Atkins in truth. what she means is that
the famous slimming diet by the late Dr Atkins has been given a Chinese slant by
some one.
The Atkins diet is famous or infamous because people bought the book - and
followed the regime which appeared to go against all the rules. He did not
worry about eating fats - as they burn up the fat (?) - go for high protein
- as much meat and eggs etc as you can eat…-but no sugar and hardly any
carbohydates at all. This way lots of people have managed to lose
weight…(there is more to it…read the book) Some people say that is hardly a
healthy way
to live - but the weight drops off - then I suppose one can resume a
healthier blance ( Buy the NEXT book by Dr Atkins!)
I would not say that it was good for skin complaints - I am just explaining
what all this is about - I do not know the Chinese input. Love J

I have read the Atkins Book and found it very interesting. The book states
that it is a cure for many ailments. Has anyone every tried it for skin
health? Please let me know because I am at wits end to find something to help

Which is actually what a true high protein diet is all about. The only time you
drastically reduce your carbs is within the 2 week induction period after that
you start to add them back in in 5 gram increments until you find a good# for
you. High protein diets get such a bad rap, when it’s really not at all true.
We as Americans eat so much processed high carb CRAP, we have done this to our
selves. Atkins, or Protein Power or any of the others on the market (if well
written) are about getting rid of an addiction to carbs, going back to whole
foods and finding the right amount for *your* body. It is very safe and
recommended by Many doctors and other medical practitioners.
<<<<<But, the best approach I’ve ever found for keeping the
weight off and just overall feeling better is just to go the whole foods
route… Just get rid of all the preservatives, processed foods, etc., eat
as many organic fruits and veggies as you can, if you eat meat, go for free
range… Basically, if you don’t know what’s in it, don’t eat it… eat
everything as close to it’s original form as possible.>>>>

Has anyone had any luck with Zyrtec relieving some of the itching? The
allergist prescribed it for my six month old son, and I’m just wondering if
it’s worth trying…

Hi, I had tried Zyrtec, I had suffered about eczema
since nearly 21 years, but now, my biggest problem,
although i still got eczema, is rinitis, nad it works
very good. Talking about skin itching I think that it
will give some relief, but in my experience, these
antihystaminics are only a little help. The best way
to keep your child without itch is keeping him calm
and stressfree.

Thanks… it’s very hard with a six month old keeping him calm… His whole
focus in life now is to scratch… it’s hard to watch… I just pray he
outgrows this or it lessens to some degree… ugh.

yeah I know its very hard, but when they grow up this
problem naturally lessens a lot, when they are around
14 -17 years old. But dont get disappointed, there are
a number of treatments that can help him, dont be
afraid of cortisone, it does a big difference, at
least in my case, just try to consult a good
dermatologist-allergologist.

I’ve never had any success with anything prescribed for itching, now I avoid
any of it. (atarax, zyrtec, claritin, etc…tried them all in the past and
probably others too, benadryl).

Atkins is disgusting. It tells you to eat cooked
animal fat and grease. No it’s not a good way to go.

good advice!!!

swolllen fingers, extreme itch, dryness, splitting skin etc. This is my
