		<description>Hi Terri,

Glad to see your follow - up re: the doctor's visit, and I'm glad to hear you
had some relief.

Triamcinalone acetonide is another steroid.

Is the UV treatment PUVA ? Find out what wavelengths will be used....UVA or
UVB.

Even though you have dark skin, you can still burn.

I will ask someone else I know with severe eczema, what treatments, if any, he
is undergoing.

&lt;!--more--&gt;
The cancer drug is probably methotrexate which we have talked about on this
site.

Look forward to your response.

Maria

This past Thursday I had a dr's appt. It was very soothing to talk to
someone about my condition without a look a disgust.

First of all when I left the dr's office I really felt lost. I wanted a pill
that would change my life but did not get it.

Until I get the OK from my insurance to try this Ultra-Violet Light treatment
he gave me this steroid ointment named Triamcinolone Acetonide. As I drove
from my appt I put a little bit on my arm and guess what I felt better. When
I got home I put it on all over and within 24 hrs I felt at least 70% better.
But back to this UV light I was told that it has helped many people but there
is a chance that it would not work for everyone. And as I go in for the
treatments 3x a week and by the way I am a black woman with dark skin, the
treatment will darken my skin and might not work on my condition. I am already
struggling with a lot. From the oral steroids I have gained weight, I have lost
my hair, my skin is rough to the touch, I don't want to deal with the plight
of being darker. So I am hoping that my insurance will not cover this
treatment. Now as a last resort the dr. did say that there is a cancer drug
that is
used for eczema but he would not discuss this treatment with me until
everything else has failed.

Anyway it has been 3 days since I have been using the ointment and I feel
like a million except for the dryness. So I still use my thick cream but not as
much.

I hope the information I have given you is useful. Talk with you dr. about
the medications.

The ointment
The UV Light
The cancer drug

Good luck with all your quest for clear skin

<description>Glenda, thanks for the advice. I am doing so well with the ointment that was
given to me that I feel like a new person. And to tell you the truth I
really don't want to even try the UV treatment. Because how can exposing my
skin
to that light help, it seems like that would aggrevate my condition. I think
for now I will continue with the ointment, watch my diet and try to think
positive about myself instead of always saying the &#34;why me&#34; thing.

Thanks once again

		<description>Hi, Terri

I am glad that you are doing well with your skin. About the UV light
treatment, I been on that before and it was okay for a month or so but
then it got worst on me. As my skin got burn and I looked like a
tomatoes. It looks like if I been in the sun all day, it was terrible.
After that I never went there again cos I was so sore and pain. Don't
hope it will works on you, it depend on the person skin. Go for your
UV light, and see how it goes. If you feel you are getting burnt after
5 or more of the treatment, let your DR know. Or you'll be so sore
that you can't do anything. But remember it depend on the person skin.
Good luck on that treatment.

Take care

		<description>Hello Jan,

I don't think there is a difference between the UV treatment and just going
outside except you pay for one. Thank you for all your insight it does help
and it helps me to look at my ordeal in a whole different light.

		<description>Dear Terri
It sounds to me as if you have got a little help at least.

What is the difference between having UV treatment from a lamp
and from having a holiday in the sun -or of just sunbathing (within reason)
at home.
Unless you live in the southern hemisphere you should be
getting plenty of sun at this time of the year.

You and your body are one.
Sit in front of the mirror and think
&#34;Dark or light, rough or smooth, bald or not, I am ME and I love me.
Together WE are gong to get through this thing because there
is no better choice.
The healing has started and will go on.
&lt;!--more--&gt;

Do not tolerate one single negative thought..
.IF one pops up then correct it immediately.
With creams, the sunlight, dr, and remembering
all the time that you are lovable just the way - you have achieved
healing.

I will not wish you luck as you do not need luck you need the realisation
that you and your body are one.
