18 year old daughter with psoriasis

Thursday, October 21st, 2004

Hello,

My daughter suffers from psoriasis. She has white,
scaly patches all over her arms, some on her legs, in
her ears and in the winter, in her head. It is causing
her a lot of frustration and embarassment.

Has anyone had any experience with reflexology. I
recently was told from a friend that it worked wonders
for someone she had known with a very bad case of
psoriasis. Reflexology combined with a very strict
diet. I’m in the process of deciding to take her and
we’ll see!

"Pull scales out"

Monday, October 18th, 2004

That’s what my 3-year-old says, and points to her hairline. Poor
thing. She has these crusty scales in her hair that, evidently, itch.
I’ve tried medicated shampoos and shampoos with tea tree oil. I’ve
tried putting olive oil on her scalp and letting it set before I wash
her hair. The drs. keep telling me it’s seborrhea (sp?), but no shampoo
meant for that condition does any good. Every time I comb her hair, big
flakes come off.

She also has eczema. It used to be severe, but now that we’re avoiding
certain foods it has improved. She has fungal problems on her feet,
though, so I combine the steroid cream with an anti-fungal there. Could
this problem in her hair be fungal too? Can I put an OTC anti-fungal on
her scalp, or will it do something weird to her hair? Any other
suggestions/ideas?

4 year old girl with psoriasis.. Parent looking for a few suggestion

Saturday, October 16th, 2004

Hello,

I am the Mother of a 4 year old girl, Helena, who is autisitic. She
started having rashes around her wrist and elbows at about 10 months
of age. We had her on Dermatop from 18 months to 3 1/2 years- but I
finally gave up (Every Dr. I saw said to keep using it). It never
worked.

Her flare ups are ususally 8 months out of the year. The most recent
Dr. said use OTC lotions with Vitamin E. No luck .

Will someone please give me some suggestions. Helena cannot
verbalize her pain, and in addition to trying to address ways to
diminish the autistic aspects of her medical problems- I feel so
helpless with this psoriasis.

Cure for REALLY oily skin?

Friday, October 15th, 2004

I’ve got a chronic problem of Seborrhoea on my scalp and forehead.
Can’t go more than a few hours without having to constantly wipe my
forehead down, plus clogged pores filled with stringy sebum. Anyone
else have or had this problem? If so, any advice? I’ve done fasts,
parasite cleanses, liver flushes, changed my eating regimen,
supplements, etc., but no real improvement. I’m 24, male…this has
destroyed my life because I am too embarrased to go to work or
school.

any help is appreciated

Benefits of Kukui Nut Oil

Wednesday, October 13th, 2004

I’ve tried Kukui Nut Oil which is available online through
oilsofaloha.com and it seems to help with extremely dry, flaky skin.
I mix together a few drops with my body lotion and apply to skin. It
does have a greasy feel, so I only use it right before bed. You can
check out Oils of Aloha website to read more about their products and
personal accounts of how it benefitted people with eczema and
psoriasis. Hope this helps, Darice

Hi Lu! I, too have psoriasis on my scalp and it is awfully uncomfortable,
to say the least. But have not had it in my groin area. I do not have any
real advice for you, but I’m sure someone in this forum does as they have
been extremely helpful to me. Re: the yeast infection, though, I take
acidophillus on a daily basis so as to keep those away. We are all on an
eternal quest to cure our skin diseases so please keep us abreast to your
situation. Currently, I am in the process of using Catalyst Altered Water
(Willards Water). I will let everyone know how it goes.
