Dear Terri
When you find a qualified acupuncturist whom you like - then
you do not have to say anything specific as f irst of all you have a
consultation and he or she will sit and talk to you taking notes about your
mood, your
health, your circumstances you medical history - your hopes and fears. From
this will be determined your "type" - and from that will come the way you are
treated. The skin condition will only be part of it - and of course you are
free to say anything you like (in fact you should be sure to say what worries
you most)
The skin is an organ of cleansing - so you will certainly be treated
holistically . Many acupunctuirst have other skills such as Chinese Herbs -
Shiat-su
- find out what these are. I found that the combination of herbs and
needles was effective - Ifound the sessions relaxing - and as the
<!--more-->
acupuncturist
will listen to your pulses a lot - you will probably find that as your session
progresses the pulses slow down - whereas they might be racing with anxiety
at the start.
IMake sure you know how much money the whole thing costs - and make
sure that you realise the one session may not be enough Ask about the cost of
the herbs. If money is short then you might say so and the herbs can be taken
as an infusion instead of the little pills and that is cheaper usually.
Talk about this sort of thing beforehand so that the time during the appointment
is not taken up.
Be sure that you arrive in good time for the appointment and have time to
sit and wait calmly....
If any therapist just treats one symptom without considering the whole
person then they are not very good at their job. If you do not like the
therapist
for some reason just find another one.
Have a happy Christmas Love granjan.

Acupuncture is very amazing , but even though its applied from the
outside its triggering nerves to makes things work again on the inside.
very cool stuff.

Jesse

I've used N.A.E.T and it helped a lot. It's an
acpuncture treatment developed by a Dr. in California.
After I treated for dogs I was able to be around them
without breaking out and getting asthma -- it was
amazing.

Anyone tried acupuncture to heal skin?
Just wondering!

Actually, if my car overheats I give it a good swift kick and then it
behaves itself.

Colleen

Just wanted to say a few things about people that may not realise
about topical creams ,lotions ,herbs, etc ....

I realised some people are really involved in looking for things to
heal there psoriasis from the outside ... most people will only find
short term comfort with anything topical and in my research and
experience if you cured yourself , you did it becuase thats how your
<!--more-->
mind needed to undo the problem internally and not with any topical
ointment actually healing your disease and another possiblitly is
that thats what your body may have needed internally thus being
absorbed into your blood though your skin .....

Im not here flaming topcial treatments... as they have cured in the
past.... and im not here to stop anyone from using them ... (even tho
I recommend to stay away from anything un-natural especially steriod
creams)...

If your psoriasis or other skin problems relay any healing from
topical stuff , but seem to reapear after a while not using them ...
think about what is being absorbed internally and how you can use
that to aid in total cure... Try and think on the inside of your
body , in my expererience I know psoriasis is not sourced
externally... besides if your car over heats do you hose down your
bonnet? no! you go to work under the hood...

God bless and good luck those taking control of how they want their
lives to be lived..

cheers
