has anyone tried this cream?
Being at wits end with my husbands eczema I am done to two alternatives. one
being the new Steroid-free, topical immunomodulators. I know of two of these new
creams; tacromimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel)
Has anyone tried either of these with good success. I’m getting mixed
information from ‘great!’ to ‘no change’.
My other alternative is a natural remedy with includes a collagen drink.
Please let me know if anyone has tried either of the creams.I don’t want to
waste more time and money.
Much Thanks!!
It was about 5 or 6 years ago when I first noticed what looked
like ringworm on my legs and under my arms.
First visit to the doctor ended with a prescription for some weak
fugal cream (canesten) which I applied regularly on the affected
areas for a few weeks, then got the repeat for the presciption until
that was also exhausted.
Second visit to the doctor ended with a presciption for Lamisil,
where I went through the same prcoess as with the canesten and still
didn’t really do much.
Summer came and the spots seemed to dry out and fade, but
remained on my legs, every now and then they would flair up and go a
deep red colour. When winter came, they re-appeared and multiplied,
so i started to do my own research on what the spots could be (and
by spots I mean roundish shaped red rings about 1cm to 2.5cm in
diameter which were somtimes raised).
After reading up on eczema and Psoriasis was convinced that the
red marks had to be one of the two.
So I did a commercial liver cleanse which was in tablet form
which also suggested to cut back on certain foods such as red meat,
dairy, beer and liquor. This treatment seemed to help clear up the
red marks off my legs.
After doing this cleanse I didn’t really consume much dairy and
reduced my red meat consumption but went back to drinking beer and
liquor (normally in any 23 year olds diet). I noticed that some of
the marks returned and it seemed like it was from the beer, (or at
least from the yeast in the beer) so did a bit of reading on yeast
infections.
I reduced the amount of yeast products like bread and pizza’a and
stop drinking beer altogether as well as doing a few Liver cleanses
like the one’s listed on curezones site, with the olive oil and
lemon juice, these proved to be successful in removing chaff and
then on the 2nd 3rd 4th 5th and 6th cleanse have removed both old
and new stones or cholesterol balls from my liver and gall bladder.
I feel that by reducing the amount of yeast consumption in my
diet as well as doing these liver cleanses has greatly improved the
health of my skin in regards to the Psoriasis and eczema as most of
the red marks have since dissapeared.
I still have a dry scalp and have a couple of
Eczema/Psoriasis ’sores’ on my head (under the cover of my hair)
which have not flaired up since the reduction in yeast. I
occasionally get some dematitis on my hands and get pimple like
sores on my shoulders, back, arms and legs which hurt like in-grown
hairs yet thay are not. I feel that there may still be a yeast
infection still present in my system and am about to try the candida
diet or maybe even try a product call ThreeLac which is meant to be
a treatment for candida.
Has anyone heard about ThreeLac as a treatment for yeast
infections or Candida and if so, have they tried it and was it
effective in getting rid of Candida??
Any information on the treatment for candida would be helpful as
the diet goes for six weeks and looks to be a great challenge to
stick to it.
I hope this helps.

I’ve used Protopic for about 2 years on my face and neck and it’s the only
treatment that has actually worked. One downside it stings like hell at first
but that’s a small price to pay. My complexion is even now and I still use it
regularly. I have’nt suffered any side effects from using Protopic.
Hope this of helps.

It all dependes on the frequency you use cortisone
creams, if your eczema is not that bad, you can use
cortisone perhaps once a week or even less for every
place except your face and neck. Use elidel in your
face and neck, but the results take a while to show…
like 5 days to a week.
In my case I use cortisone in my body and elidel in my
face and neck and I dont have any problem doing this.
Elidel is great but its quite expensive.

you know how it goes.

sometimes i notice a strange smell after i’ve been
scratching a lot or when the eczema is "weepy" and i’m
feeling extra allergic.
March 18th, 2005 at 6:42 am
For what I know, when the skin got smell it is a sign
of an infection (weepy skin can get infected easily),
I really suggest you go and see your dermatologist
right away.

hi Victor
Thank for advise.. But i’ve already told my dermatologist
about the smell. And he didnt say anything about it. Will
go and see him again..
thanks again.
