Acne that just wont go

Friday, April 29th, 2005

Hi everyone…I really need your advice!
Im sufferin from moderate acne, and its over my face. I’ve tried
proactiv, but after using it for a few weeks, the bumps just got
larger. Then I tried a medicated sulphur soap, yes it helped
minimized the bumps, but my skin got so dry and flaky.
Now am back with using an anti-bacterial scrub (Pond’s).
However, with using it, after the old ones disappear, new ones grow.

I really need help on this! Im 22 years old. My name’s Tristan. Im a
professional now, and this condition is breaking me down.
I realize to check a dermatologist by next month, but my worry would
be financial. Definitely, I would need to have a good budget for that.

Please please I really need your help! What should I do to clear my
face?

Oily skin and acne problem

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

hi guys, and ladys too…

I am new to this group, just joined a few minutes ago..

I have oily skin and acne problem mostly on my forehead, jaw line and
neck area, not too severe though but it just won’t go away, after the
old ones are healed, new ones pop right out….

I once read that if we have oily skin, then it is advisable that we
should not wash our face too often, because this promote more oil
generation (a natural response of our body), is that true? If so,
then, how should we take care of our face when it really gets sticky
and oily? I am currently using a soap-bar ‘Acne-Aid’ promoted by a
skin specialist and it feels really dry after washing, don’t know
whether I am doing the right thing or not, help please.

the only treatment that worked for me

Monday, April 25th, 2005

I recently had a severe flare up that affected my ears….the surface
area on the ears is alot more than it is on other areas, so the
inflamation and weeping and discomfort were much worse than any
flareups elswhere that I experienced in the past. Out of
desperation to reduce the inflamation pain and discomfort….I
put "Preparation H" on my ears…and to my amasement….not only did
it give me the relief I was looking for….but it also stopped the
skin from weeping and the flareup was totaly cleared up in 3 days!!!
Preperation H is made for use in sensive areas….so was pretty sure
it wouldnt cause more irritaion……and I cant believe the
results…..I never tried anything that gave me more than just
boarderline reilief….and definitely nothing that actually cleared
up and affected area.

Thanks for the advice

Thank you Leesh
Your advice is helpful. I am letting eczema consume my identity and am
in a vicious spiral of stress and helplessness. After talking this through
with a couple of people in the last week I am feeling a little better. I
need to stop letting it rule my life and take control of my anxiety. I have
started some relaxation strategies and feel it may be already helping
MIND OVER MATTER. As for the diet I have avoided wheat and dairy
and a number of other foods that showed up in allergy tests. I believe
diet is an important factor in management, however I suspect stress is
probably an overriding factor for me at the moment. It’s reassuring to
hear other people coping positively with their management of the
eczema. Thanks again.

anxious

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

I’m new to this and was wondering if anyone has any advice or ideas to
help deal with my anxiety. I have suffered with eczema all my life.
Since having 2 children it has progressively got worse (now on my face
as well) I have tried most treatments (conventional and natural) I am
not getting any significant results. My 2 year daughter has it as well. I
am beginning to let it overtake my life and consume every minute of my
day. I am anxious and getting very down. Can anyone relate??????

Sick School Syndrome

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Our young son seems to have developed frequent illnesses since
school started, and it worries us. He started by 1st having
Conjuctivitis(pinkeye), then came cold/allergy symptoms, and a small
rash or bruise on his stomach. My husband and I suspect that
something at school is making him ill, but we aren’t sure if it’s
Sick School Syndrome. Has anyone here dealt with this before? He’s a
special needs child in a class, with other kids who are suseptible to
illness. Any input would be appreciated!

dead sea salt

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

Sue asked..
Just wondering, does anyone have any luck with dead sea salt baths?

Sending non itchy vibes to all,
Sue
…I had a bad ulcer on my leg caused by overscratching an excema sore. I went
to the local clinic every two days to have it cleaned and dressed. It persisted
for a few months with very slow change. Then, when a friend sent me some dead
sea salt, I decided to bathe the ulcer at home. It healed up within 3 weeks and
the clinic sister was amazed. I haven’t been back since. The excema I have on my
legs now is minimal. Just a few small bits here and there and not really very
itchy. I also take Calcium ascorbate and that seems to help it too.
