perioral dermatitis
Susan… you poor dear!…..
here is where you can see and ready about the lotion bar
and the lotion soap
about half way down the page… (we are normally a supply company teaching
people to make their own products but we also retail the
shea and lotion bar because we are getting so many good
reports )
We have two products.. the pure shea ingredient which is
excellent in concentrated spots.. and the solid lotion bar…
fluid lotions have a main ingredient of water… we don’t
‘dilute’ our ingredients…
Please contact me if I can help more…the sooner you can
stop this.. the better…you don’t want it stam-peding your system.
Best,
Patti

Hi everyone, I am new to the group, and I am looking for a more
natural way to deal with my perioral dermatitis. I have had it off
and on for around a year. Whenever it gets bad I take
tetracycline. I have changed to a natural tooth paste and
everything, but it seems to randomly come back. I also have eczema
on my arms and legs. I am supposidly allerigic to nickle,
fragrence, and some chemicals in makeup. Well, I was just wondering
if anyone has had any luck with a natural cure. I am thinking of
starting a clense. Does anyone know anything about neem oil?
Thanks,
Jessica

You were right to assume that your toothpaste may be causing the perioral
dermatitis, but do you know your "natural" toothpaste may not be so natural
after all? If it has lots of peppermint oil, this may be the problem. I am also
sensitive to certain essential oils around my mouth. I would switch to Miessence
toothpaste (the lemon or anise blend) as they don’t have the peppermint oil and
are certified organic. Also, Royal Body Care has a product called Microbrite
that is great and shouldn’t irritate your skin. Do NOT take tetracycline. It
certainly won’t do much to clear up dermatitis, which is more of an allergic
respose or an irritation response, not primarily a bacterial infection.
Antibiotics only weaken your immune system. Start on some good organic kefir to
replace your friendly bacteria and make sure the skin care products you use are
very pure (Teressentials or Miessence). I would also switch to Monave mineral
makeup or Miessence liquid makeup. Any other brand will contain
irritants that can potentially cause dermatitis of one type or another. Let me
know how things go.

Hello,
I have been reading a lot of good advice lately coming from Carissa. I have a
question:
My son was born with eczema for which he was described cortisone as last resort
and only thing that tamed his skin condition. I had cancer while pregnant and I
thing that whatever they gave me to slow my contidion affected my child in the
womb. At age of 4 months he developed asthma and has been using medications
(whatever is new in the market at the time, you name it) to ‘control’ his
asthma.
His skin condition took a turn for the worse when he reached puberty. He is
now 15 (the 20th of this month) and we have tried microbiotic diet, alternative
medicine and mainstream medicine. His has gotten better after 2 years of having
him in a rigorous diet of fish and greens only and a neverending list of all
kinds of supplements.
We went back to mainstream medicine after his asthma got out of control again
and so we are back in the cycle.
His new allergist has placed him in allergy shots which after 2 months, does not
seem to have a significant impact, but we learned that he is no longer alergic
to corn, but he is very alergic to dust, mold and pecans.
His eczema tends to come back after he starts medications to put his asthma
under control. I have read some books about candida albacanis and have asked
his doctor about it, but there has not been much response yet.
He has undergone chelation (10 sessions) which seem to give him some strenght
back, but his eczema never went away.
Please, if you have any suggestions of what to read or do I will appreciate it.
Thanks,
Suzanne

I realize this is a LOT of info, but I really felt compelled to give you the
whole story. I think your son needs this. I think you have most of the big
picture, but there are some vital pieces missing. Hopefully this email will send
you in the right direction. Good luck, and email me if you have more questions.
I’m happy to help!

Had to forward you this one. Aaah life for her would be so much easier if
she just bought all her stuff from Melaleuca!

True, some of Melaleucas products are good. I use and love the tea tree oil. I
get the T40-C3. Even though it’s not organic, I believe it’s ok. Rarely are
melaleuca trees sprayed with chemicals anyway. This company seems to be somewhat
concerned with natural health, but if you really read the labels, you will see
some of the same chemical offenders you see in traditional products. Their
fabric softener stinks to high heavens of synthetic fragrance, their laundry
soap contains ionic surfactants, their skin care products are full of all the
traditional chemical base ingredients and nasties, etc etc. I’ve found I have
to use a variety of different products from all different manufacturers to
really keep it clean. For example, I love some of the Royal Body Care
supplements (spirulina, Microhydrin Plus) but I would never recommend using
their skin care products. They are full of parabens, petroleum by products and
other lovely things. I will be so relieved when the demand for all natural
products forces these manufacturers to stop using toxic chemicals in their
products!!!!!

I have some similar allergies too. I thought it was foods but I tested
negative to all the food testing. I reacted to several chemicals though,
nickle;
cobalt (blue dye); also a substance commonly found in rubber or latex ( i
previously thought it was latex but I tested both positive and negative in the
past); and a few chemicals commonly found in shampoos and makeup too.
right now my hands are the worse they have ever been but I seem to have
cleared up elsewhere….and my hands have gotten a staph infection. Then to top
it
off, I came down with shingles (on my face of all places!!!). But my immune
system has been low and I was off treatments for that for the last few years.
I think I have to start up treatments again seeing that I have simultaneous
infections at the moment. I guess my immune system just got depleted over time
and needs replenishing…Maybe my immune system is the root of all my
problems.
Does anyone else have immune deficiency and/ or chemicals allergies?

Carisa,
Thank You! My son read the e-mail you sent and he loved all the ideas
and suggestions you gave. I will try those products for my house. I
never heard of that Sun and Earth brand, do they sell it at any
specific store or just at a local health foods store? Thats all for
now Many thanks!

You have to try a salve available through @www.mymamaslove.com. It
works better than anything I’ve seen or used before.
