Fw: [eczemapsoriasis] Re: Have you heard of this?
Yes hello, I am from Australia and have eczema or atopic
dermantistis, I am now
27 so as you can imagine I have used just about everything I can find
on the
market. I have used the Ego products before, they are ok however I
did react to
the ’stronger’ cream that they have (in has a yellow & grey label).
Always be
careful when first using a product for the first time, esp. on kids,
test it out
for a few days first on their foot for example.
The product I have had the most success with is from a brand called
QV or Queen
Victoria and I am not sure if this is only available in the UK &
Australia
either, the product is called ‘flare-up bath oil’ and is excellent
for calming
the skin down and well as moisturing it. If the skin is dry try using
a product
called Cetaphil - this is good as it is a non-comagenic, doesn’t
clogs the skins
pores as much as other moisturisers can. I noticed you have tried
Eilidel, I use
something similar here called Tacrolymus which is similar to eildel
but works in
a slightly different way. - perhaps it is similar to the product
called
Protopic. I find this very good for areas around my face and neck but
doesn’t
really appear to work that well in other areas.
Other things that work for me are - if I have a really big flare up a
luke warm
bath with Camomile tea is very soothing - (I just put about 10
chamomile
teabags into the bath) it is also good for the mind (which totally
stresses out
too when my skin flares up - thus turning the problem into a vicious
cycle), it
is usually best before going to bed.
I do hope you find success with your three year old, I would also
recommend some
form of relaxation techniques to be taught to your child as I do feel
this would
have helped me more to cope with my eczema when growing up. Stress
has a
definate role to play so if relaxtation techiniques are instilled at
an early
age your child will cope a lot better.
All the best and please feel free to contact me if you think i can be
of further
help. mills_rachel@y…
