7 month old questions

My 7 month old has an eczema like rash on his face and has had it
since around 2 months. I have been using over the counter
hydrocordizone cream off an on and it really helps. In the last 10
days I have stopped using the cream and started using All Free and
Clear with all our clothing and I have taken dairy out of my diet
(breastfeeding). The rash isn’t gone but it is doing good for 10
days without the cream. How do I know if it is the dairy or the
detergent that is causing the problem. The eczema seems to get
worse at night. Would dust mites cause that? Also, he is going for
a well baby check tomorrow and wondered about vaccinations. He has
been vaccinated up to this point. Should I not get some
vaccinations tomorrow?

Thanks so much for any help or suggestions.

    -hi,

I have been there done that for my son who is now 3, You go through
the processes of removing items and reintroducing items.

you are fine with the all free and clear detergent, I have been told
not to use dryer sheets but that liquid downey free is ok. how many
times are you giving him a bath. and are you using soap?
I have a 9 week old also and he started to show alittle of teh baby
acne and whne he gets hot it flares alittle more, but nothing like my
other son. I also stopped using soap on my youngest when not needed
and when I do only in the spots where it is needed adn I use Aveeno
baby wash. all the other baby lotions and soaps have too many
perfumes. another thing to think about is clothing try and stay away
from polyester blends and fleece, cotton is the best choice,

as far as the vacinations I am not sure I have vacinated all my
children so far, My daughter does not have the exema and my youngest
son looks like it will bypass him as of now.
We had my 3 year old tested for allergies, and found that he is
allergic to carrots, apples, corn and nuts, some molds and grasses.
I had him on from the beginning on soy formula and found that he was
    never allergic to milk.

you said that you are using ointment on the area, I am leary now
knowing what I know about these topical creams that doctors easily
prescribe, the earlier a person starts to use them the longer a
person has to use them. My son has built a tollerance to may of them
and we can only go stronger to help control his skin. Steriods thin
the skin and strip away the skins own ablility to heal itself. the
less you can use earlier the better that is what I personally feel.
I have been researching alot and I have found out more info on my own
than any dermatologists has ever given me.

I have yet to receive some new lotions and bath oils that I ordered
    through Austrailia.

I have to say though that my son is doing much better these days than
    just a month ago.

I hope that I have helped in some way.. if you want to talk more just
    email..
