anxious

I’m new to this and was wondering if anyone has any advice or ideas to
help deal with my anxiety. I have suffered with eczema all my life.
Since having 2 children it has progressively got worse (now on my face
as well) I have tried most treatments (conventional and natural) I am
not getting any significant results. My 2 year daughter has it as well. I
am beginning to let it overtake my life and consume every minute of my
day. I am anxious and getting very down. Can anyone relate??????

    Welcome to the list, eczemagirl,

I’m sure many of us on the list have dealt with the
anxiety and frustration of dealing with eczema. I’m 48
and have had it all my life.

Unfortunately, it’s a catch-22. Since eczema is tied
to stress, the more stressed and anxious you get about
the eczema, the worse it will be.

I’m finding that the only way I can manage my eczema
is through diet. You may want to find a good allergist
who takes a holistic approach and try to determine any
food sensitivities you have. Once you’ve eliminated
the problem foods, work on eliminating the junk foods,

sugars and starches that fill your body with toxins.
In many cases, eczema can be a symptom of a systematic
problem with digestion such as candida or leaky-gut
syndrome. If so, you will need to address those issues
before you’re able to get the eczema under control.

Also, I realize you probably set up the "eczemagirl"
alias for your involvement in lists such as this, but
don’t let the eczema define you as a person. You are a
whole and beautiful person. Eczema is just a symptom
of a health issue you need to address, but it does not
define you as a person. I like to think of my eczema
as a gauge that serves to let me know when I need to
improve my diet or health in some manner. Most people
never know when something’s wrong until it’s too late.
If you just think of the eczema as an indicator, it
removes a lot of the stress. After all, while seeing a
red light on the dashboard of your car indicate that
the engine is overheating might seem stressfull, it’s
a lot better than having the car overheat and
potentially ruin the engine without a warning light.
