I truly believe in this, also in Holland there are starting firms
    with this concept.

This sounds like a band-aid to me… How is it correcting the underlying issue
of maybe being allergic to something or having an immune defeciency. What if
your allergic to your home water or some type of food… How is little fish
eating the dead skin going to correct that?

    I agree completely.

Still, there is a benefit to treating the skin at the same time, but
there are much simpler ways of doing it than having fish nibble on
your skin. Personally, I prefer bathing in sea salt. It does a
wonderful job of exfoliating and soothing my psoriasis flare-ups. That
along with a change in diet has made a big impact on both my psoriasis
    and eczema.

I agree, Alicia, sea salt seems to help sooth my skin problem. I’ve been
    using Dead Sea salt.

A question for you. What diet changes have you made? Also, how do you tell
the difference between eczema and psoriasis? You mentioned you have both.

    Take care,

    Marla

    Hi Marla,
Aren’t the Dead Sea Salt’s great!? If you’re using them much, you may
want to buy them from a bulk supplier. I did a search on-line and
found a place that sold 55 lbs. of Dead Sea Salt for about $100. It
was about $120 including shipping, which is a little more than $2/lb.
That’s a lot less than the $7-8/lb you pay in the health food stores.
I don’t remember the name of the supplier off-hand, but you can just
search for ‘bulk dead sea salt’ and find them.

I’ve made a lot of changes to my diet. I first cut out virtually all
sugar and sweeteners along with simple carbs (white flour, pototos,
etc.). I also buy only organic produce and meats when possible. I
added some supplements like flax seed oil, borage oil, quercitin,
zinc, B12, magnesium, caprylic acid, etc. I then did a thorough
allergy test (RAST blood tests checking for both IgE and IgG

reactions) and found that I have sensitivities to corn, dairy, eggs
and citrus. I also did a rotation diet and found that red meat and
nightshades (tomatos, peppers, potatos, etc.) aggravate my psoriasis.
It has been a long, drawn-out process, but I’m finding that now that
I’ve cleaned up my diet, I have become much more in-touch with my
body. I can now tell very quickly if I eat something that irritates my
skin or my allergies. For the first time in years, I feel like I’m
getting my skin problems under control, but the psoriasis was so bad
that it will take a while for my skin to heal fully.

As for the difference between eczema and psoriasis, initially it was
the allergist who diagnosed it. I thought it was all eczema, but in
the last three years I developed some large scaly patches on my lower
legs that turned out to be P. Most psoriasis has the notable
distinction of forming large patches that shed off a lot of dry
silvery scales of skin. Essentially, the skin cells are
    over-reproducing, like a cancer.
