When she was about 2, she had 2 very small "spots" right at her hair line where the hair came out. Just as quickly, it grew right back in, so we really thought nothing of it. Then again around 3 1/2, a few more spots appeared, and the dermatologist said it was "viral Alopecia". Again, it all grew back. This past summer, she had another episode, but this was far worse...multiple areas with a pretty large diameter. The original place from the summer is coming back in nicely, BUT the other areas are not doing well at all. The last time we took her to the dermatologist, he started her on the injections, which is basically a corticosteroid like Celestone or Kenalog. Since that time, she is doing a great deal better, but again, there seem to be new areas almost daily. There is SO little information that I can find, and I was so pleased to have found this board.
