Just curious.

I have used epsom salts before for detox baths and for muscle pain, but I don’t
know if it works for itching. Dead sea salts will have a better healing effect
as they are rich in trace elements and minerals. Make sure your bath water is
slightly below or at body temperature. If you take a hot bath, the heat and
salts will cause your body to excrete and sweat. Which is fine if you want a
detox bath, but for this purpose you want the body to absorb, not excrete.
Saltworks has reasonably priced, high quality salts. They have an
eczema/psoriasis formula that is only a couple dollars a pound, 2.18 I think.
Maybe try that, then rinse thoroughly after the bath (make sure you have a
chlorine filter on your shower) and while still damp, rub Nutiva coconut oil
into the skin and air dry. This should bring you more than just temporary
relief. It will actually have a balancing and healing effect.

Hi:
Has anyone tried bathing in epsom salts to help dry, itchy skin??
i’ve be so tempted to get some of that dead sea salt.the only thing that is
stopping me is how do you know where it came from?i mean dude could have got it
anywhere.am i right on this or not? take care and have fun, jamey
That can be the case with anything… supplements, foods, etc. You
just have to find a supplier that seems reliable and check them out as
much as you reasonably can. Then give it a try. In the end, if it
works, who cares where they got it?
I would not venture to try the dead sea salt because
it is likely to burn if you have any open wounds.
Detoxification seems to be the better solution. I
tried an "Ultimate Cleanse" diet and the psoraisis
patches on my elbows and arms cleared as did the patch
on my thigh area. I have had no luck yet with my feet
though.
was the brand name of this product ""ultimate cleanse""?do you find it at health
food stores?does it taste like dirt?

Those options are not the same. Dead sea salt baths sooth and
moisturize the skin and gently exfoliate the scales from psoriasis.
I’ve heard they also draw toxins out from the skin. The cleansing
diets work from the inside out. Both steps may be necessary for many
of us (they are for me).
I have done the dead sea salt baths even with oozing psoriasis and
have had no problem. In fact to the contrary, they’ve been very
helpful in soothing and healing the skin.
Actually, I recommend the dead sea "salt" becasue it doesn’t burn or irritate
the skin. It has a very low concentration of sodium, and is mostly minerals.
Dead Sea salt has 10 times more minerals than ordinary sea salts. It will not
burn your skin. As you can see from the chart below, the concentration of salt
(sodium chloride) is very low compared to the mineral content.
Chemical Composition:
Magnesium Chloride
(MgCl2)
33.3
31.0 - 35.0
Potassium Chloride
(KCl)
24.3
20.0 - 28.0
Sodium Chloride
So, take a bath and enjoy! Dead Sea salts have been proven in studies to improve
psoriasis, eczema and many skin conditions.

I’ve been taking sea salt baths and was surprised to find it didn’t burn, but
I tried to soak my hands in a bowl and that burned bad!!! I find sometimes I
get more itchy though. That used to happen in the past too, I started adding
baking soda recently but I still get itchy.
My whole body seemed to flare up but maybe it’s because the weather got cold?
I was almost completely clear last week (ironically, I came down with
Shingles (on my face) and my hands were infected but my eczema was good) but now
that
has cleared up my eczema is back everywhere! I haven’t had this much on my
entire body in awhile.
I read up on Shingles and it seems that you can stay itchy for quite some
time….since I itch already this makes it worse.

at all.

I agree. The only minor exception is that when I had a major psoriasis
flare-up, I experienced an intense "itch" (not burning) on the area
for a few seconds when I first got into the dead sea salt bath.
However, after those few seconds the itch went away completely and my
skin was soothed tremendously. I highly recommend trying it. Restrain
yourself from the impulse to scratch during those few seconds, or you
could cause some damage.
I would go with Bokek from Saltworks. It’s reasonably priced (about 3 bucks a
pound) and it’s a high quality product. You can get it at www.saltworks.us
It is the authentic dead sea salt and they list the chemical analysis for each
product so you know what you’re getting.

I have had psoriasis for 35 years. I have now been in the last year soaking my
feet and hands in AHAVA Dead Sea Bath Salts. I have found it to be stress
reduction and relaxation as well as softening my skin, relives the pain and does
not sting. I soak in warm water not hot.
I have also found Yeast & fungi drops (by BioEngergetics, Inc.) (20 drops 3
times a day) have been greatly helping me as well as Calendula Coneflower
Comfrey Cream (By Eclectic Institute Inc.) on my hands and feet help with the
pain and softens my skin. You can find the Yeast & Fungi drops and the Calendula
Coneflower Comfrey Cream at a Homeopathic Store. The Sea Salts at a Health Store
( I found it at Wild Oats in Tucson, Az).
I am also looking into a home make cream. I met a man at the store where I work
and talked to him as I over heard him talking to a co-worker. He has been into
making a cream for his wife, which has helped her greatly. Also makes natural
soap and candles. He will be bringing me a sample of his cream to test out. The
only thing is that it is not FDA supported but some of the best are not. Worth a
try as the suffering from psoriasis is hard to bear for me in my daily life.
I also am going to do a bowl, liver, parasite cleaning. I believe that the good
bacteria has been killed by yeast in the liver, colon and in the whole body.
When doing a parasite cleaning we need to know there are more then one type of
parasite. Therefore what is needed is all the cleanses for all the different
types of parasites.
Carisa I am very interested in knowing anything that you use.
I wish you all good health and best of luck in finding out what helps you I do
hope that I have given you some help with the new things I have listed that are
helping me now.

There are lots of programs to get rid of parasites. Dr Clarks protocol is one of
the best, there is also a brand called Clarkia that works well. A strong body
will fight off parasites and keep them from becoming a real problem. The best
thing you can do is just support yourself with proper nutrition from live, whole
foods and not use anything on the skin but completely natural, organic products.
Miessence is the only skin care line that is internationally certified organic
according to FOOD standards, not skin care standards. The skin care standards
are a joke and don’t guarantee anything. If you want to keep it real simple,
just use coconut oil on the skin. It is incredibly healing and penetrates deep
into the dermis and even to the connective tissue layer. Nutiva and Tropical
Traditions are the best brands. You could make a salve with calendula, comfrey
and coconut oil and you will be very pleased with your results.
The dead sea salts are also excellent and have a healing effect as well as
providing relief. I usually recommend Bokek dead sea salts from saltworks
because they are a reliable source.
As far as ridding yeast from the body, avoiding foods that feed the yeast (foods
high in sugar or that metabolize into sugar like corn, potatoes and grain
products) will greatly help your battle. I also recommend raw, organic kefir and
other cultured foods like krauts, miso and rejuvelac. This will balance the
flora in your body and kick out candida faster than just taking a probiotic
supplement. They may not help candida infections at all. Threelac is one
probiotic supplement that may help you for short term use, but I would use it
with the cultured foods. Foods are the most important medicine of all!
Good luck to you, and I will soon post my whole eczema/psoriasis protocol for
all of you to try.

There are two that I have tried:
(1) Nature’s Secret - Ultimate Fasting Cleanse,
5-Part, 5-Day Program 1 Kit
(2) Nature’s Secret - Ultimate Cleanse.
And yes - there is a slight "grassy" smell to the
herbal tablets!
