ECZEMA NEVER ENDING!
Greetings - this is my first post.
I have been suffering (!!!) for 9 years now with scalp eczema.
Have tried the prescription lotions - just a bandaid really and the
application is OH SO PAINFUL.
I have tried otc applications - very painful as well but works a bit
better than scripts.
I use hydrocortisone on my forehead and ears - seems to irritate
condition even more, but maybe I am not good at repeating this
method for several days/weeks?
I use bacitracin when my forehead/ears are bleeding - at least this
prevents bacterial infections.
I just bought a shampoo especially for eczema and the pain during
shampoo is unreal. I stuck with this for four days/four shampoos and
the itching got incredibly worse.
I quit all hair gels/sprays/etc over three months ago thinking that
this would really help.
Even when I feel that things are quiet and I become hopeful, there
is always a quick return.
Any Ideas????????

Lots of ideas! This is a condition that originates within. The skin is an organ
and is a window into the health of the other organs and body systems. I suspect
that you have a candida overgrowth, which can be addressed with some dietary
changes and organic kefir. You will also need to stop using toxic prescritions
and things that hurt! Coconut oil is a big part of my protocol (inside and out)
as well as a few other inexpensive whole food supplements. Email me if you would
like to see the program. I’m not selling anything, I just don’t want to keep
posting this thing on the group board and taking up space.

I dont know if you have tried this (BETAMETHASONE VALERATE LOTION USP, 0.1%) but
it always works on my break outs on my scalp which is quite often. It also
helps the itching alot. This is a prescription but not expensive. Also the tar
shampoo works but not as well as the bethamethasone. Stopping the use of hair
spray and gels does not work, I tried this for several months. Just dont wash
your hair everyday.

Yeah, I often wonder why so called eczema/psoriasis remedies are so painful.
Why are they made with alcohol and fragrances when they are supposed to be
used on cracked skin…I hate that. And why add colors and fragrances. It’s
frustrating and annoying.

I also have a few small patches of Eczema on my scalp. My hair is dry anyway
so I use deep moisturizing shampoo. Also: Shampoo/conditioner formulas work
well. I also try to only shampoo my hair once every couple of days. The
other days every day rinse out my hair and put on conditioner. My
dermatologist gave me Betamethasone Dipropionate Lotion (contains alcohol)
and it really doesn’t do much but sting. My derm said, "Don’t pick at it!"
but if I don’t the layers just build up anyway. So I am supposed to wait for
a big clump of dead skin to fall off my head? I don’t think so. It’s
frustrating. I’ve tried just about everything. The only thing that seemed to
slow it down is this Oil Of Olay Regenerist Serum. I got the sample 3 pack.
It comes with a night and day moisturizer you apply over the Serum. The
night one seems to work the best on the scalp and it’s a little expensive
but I am desperate.
Tar shampoo smells so bad I can’t stand it and it didn’t do anything for
me anyway. Also, most of those medicated shampoos dry your hair out.

Carisa,
The space you are taking up provides valuable information which is important for
the constant stream of newcomers to the site. I don’t think you should feel the
least bit guilty about this. I’m sure that all reasonable people can understand
and accept this.

I am finishing up a document that is small enough for me to paste into an email
Carisa
and post if people are interested. I should have it finished in the next couple
days. It’s a base program, and will need to be customized for each individual,
but I think it should help. I feel it strikes a good balance between :taking up
space: and educating
