<description>Coconut oil would be a wonderful addition to your diet, but it will take some
dietary changes across the board for you to cure rosacea as well as changing
over to skin care products that will not aggravate your condition and help it
heal. You would need to take 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil daily for a healing
effect. You can cook with it but it's best raw. I know of some delicious recipes
and there are several cookbooks out there for coconut dishes. I highly recommend
Nutiva or Tropical Traditions coconut oil. They are organic and unrefined and
are processed within hours of harvest. You can also use it topically on the skin
as it has a very small molecular size and will not clog pores, feel greasy or
cause acne. It has a wonderful healing effect on the skin because it is rich in
medium chain fatty acids. These MCFAs, when broken down by the by the beneficial
bacteria on the skin, help form a barrier that kills harmful bacteria, fungus
and viruses. Coconut oil penetrates deep into
the dermis and even to the connective tissue layer. It is probably one of the
best things you could put on your skin. Try it, and see if it helps!
