worst rosacea advice ever
Ok, I found the link to this group from curezone.com. I was reading
there advice for rosacea, which includes the following:
Sweating (Rosacea)
Sweating is powerful way to cleanse your body from accumulated toxins.
examples:
- exercise with a lot of clothes
- Sauna
- drink warm tea in a hot room …
- eat CAYENNE pepper! …
It is known that some modern industrial toxins and pesticides can
leave your body only through sweat glands!
THIS IS SOME OF THE WORST ADVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR ROSACEA!!
Anybody who has rosacea knows that increasing the body temperature
only brings on a flush, and thus does more damage to the underlying
vascular problem. A Sauna? Are you kidding me?
Please, I would like to hear the point of view of a single person who
actually thinks the above would be good for rosacea…

Yeah, this does sound like a big crock of poopie to me. Plus, most pesticides
and industrial wastes are FAT soluble, therefore they are not able to be
excreted through a water based medium (sweat). For goodness sakes, don’t believe
everything you read!!

Just as an FYI, my rosacea was caused by mercury poisoning. One way to detox
from
mercury is by sauna. I used a synthetic chelator. My rosacea is long gone.
(Although, now I
have eczema from my Crohn’s disease!).
My "rosacea" (probably misdiagnosed–it may have really been mercury poisoning)
included rashlike acne on chin and cheek area around nose. Pustules, flushing of
the face.
This was one of the first symptoms to go when I treated the mercury poisoning.
If you
have rosacea and suspect mercury poisoning (broken thermometer, amalgam
fillings, lots
of tuna, etc) you may want to look into a test for mercury.
My 2 cents…Julie

Julie,
Where do you get a synthetic chelator?

My advice is to do a good sauna program; it seems the safest. I developed MCS
(Multiple
Chemical Sensitivity) after 2 years of chelation, probably from overloading my
liver,
although who knows really, there are so many factors involved. But you never
want to get
MCS. It sucks and makes life very difficult.
Good luck

A safe way to do chelation is not to use synthetics. They are not what nature
intended. Spirulina and chlorella are the 2 best natural chelating agents for
heavy metals. If you go slowly with them and gradually build up to the
recommended amount, you will not feel any cleansing responses and the high
nutrient density supports the organs of elimination during the process. Dr
Mercola sells a great brand of chlorella on his website, and Royal Body Care has
the best quality certified organic spirulina, IMHO. It would also be wise to do
the standard colon-kidney-parasite-liver cleansing protocols before beginning a
heavy metal detox so that your organs are all clear and working at optimum.
Malic acid (apple acid) is another good natural chelating agent that is quite
effective when used in conjunction with a liver cleanse.

We must also be careful with selenium. It is a trace element and we can easily
overdose. Check out this article. It is always best to stick to natural food
source chelators!
Selenium: Too Much in Your Water Can be Worse Than Having a Deficiency
By Richard Mesquita, AquaMD
A new Web site was recently launched by a non-profit organization of researchers
and engineers who are concerned about the growing evidence of adverse health and
environmental effects from products containing selenium.
In fact, Congress was so concerned about the significantly increasing levels of
selenium in the environment that they directed the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) to conduct a study of selenium’s "potentially injurious effects to
the environment and human health." I commend their efforts because selenium is
just one more element I find in more public water supplies.
It’s important to note, however, your body needs low levels of selenium to
maintain good health. Still, exposure to high levels of selenium can cause
adverse health effects.
You typically get enough selenium from the food you eat or from a daily vitamin
supplement. There is no need for selenium to be in your water supply, because it
has been classified as a bioaccumulative toxin, right up there with mercury,
lead, PCBs and dioxins. Selenium is also part of the EPA’s toxic release
inventory.
What is Selenium and How is it Used?
Selenium is a solid black, gray or reddish element found in rocks and soil (and
present in coal and oil). You may be surprised about the variety of products
that use it:
TVs and computers
Glass
Pharmaceuticals
Farm feed additive
Paints, plastics, inks and rubber (for color)
Pesticides
Fungicides
Anti-dandruff shampoos
Environmental Discharges
Selenium has also been identified by the EPA as one of several hazardous
materials released from electronic waste (E-waste). This means that hazardous
substances found in millions of computers, TV sets, cell phones and other
electronic products that are discarded every year leach into the environment. In
fact, government sources report approximately 220 million tons of E-waste are
generated each year in the United States.
Electric utilities burn coal and oil (which contains selenium) to fuel their
turbines and generate electricity. The soot resulting from burning coal and oil
is pumped into the air and ultimately deposited by rain into rivers, lakes and
underground water supplies. And, selenium waste from farm animal discharges also
leaches into surrounding water supplies.
The EPA reported that in 2003 more than 3.3 million pounds of selenium and
selenium compounds were disposed of in the United States. Here are the top 10
states in terms of the highest levels of reported discharges:
Texas
Nevada
Utah
Idaho
Pennsylvania
Ohio
West Virginia
Oregon
Alabama
Indiana
Health Effects
Long-term exposure to high levels of selenium has been linked to causing hair
and fingernail loss, damage to the nervous system, fatigue, irritability and may
also cause circulatory system problems. Over the long haul, it can also result
in the discoloration of the skin, excessive tooth decay, tooth discoloration,
lack of mental alertness and listlessness.
Selenium has also been shown to cause reproductive difficulties in laboratory
animals.
If you’ve recently been exposed to high levels of selenium, blood and urine
tests should detect it. If you’ve been exposed over the long term, toenail
clippings can be used to detect it.
Does Your Water Contain Selenium?
To protect your health, I urge you to find out if selenium and other
contaminants are in your water supply. If they are, get the right treatment
system to remove them. Don’t assume you can tell if your water is safe just by
the way it looks, tastes or smells.
Dangerous levels of toxins in your water can only be detected by sophisticated
laboratory equipment.

Hi, Carisa
I read your response to a mom that was told by her doctor to put bleach on her
babie’s bath water. I also have a 7 month old baby girl that has had eczema all
over her body since she was two months old. I really like your suggestions and
would like to follow them but, I don’t know how to find some of the products
you’d suggested…please help. Here they are:
Teressentials cleansers
Miessence wash
Secrets of Eden essential oil
Where do you put the drop of camomil/or lavender oil, and which one do you like
better. Thank you very much! May God Bless you,
Nigrinha

Does anyone who has a baby with eczema also have skin problems themselves?
I was wondering if it’s hereditary…..I have eczema, one of my brother’s has
psoriasis and 3 family members have/had asthma (brothers and mother). My
sister’s don’t have any problems though.
I am having a baby in Oct and hope he does not inherit my skin
problems…though mine didn’t show up til I was college age…
Take care all,
Sue

Hello Sue,
I had eczema as a child and so does my 22 month old
son. We both appeared with it at about 6 weeks old. I
do also have a daughter 5 months old and she doesnt
show any sign of eczema so far. I am crossing my
fingers. Childhood eczema runs in our family. Today I
rarely have flare ups myself. I only have trouble with
very dry skin. I think that its really a flip of a
coin. If you have more than one child then they may
show signs. On my second pregnancy our allergist
suggested that I omit peanuts from my diet in my third
tri-mester. I know that you are close to that but I am
not sure if it helped or not but my daughter has
beautiful skin. Hope this helps =) Good luck with the
baby.
