		<description>Hello Jane,

My name is Leslie and your symptoms sound like a mirror image of mine.
I developed asthma 4 years ago at age 39. I noticed my toes turning
purple and the doctor gave me an antifungal cream. So I went to a
dermatologist. He diagnosed Raynouds. Put simply Raynouds is like poor
circulation mostly in your hands and feet. They will turn white, then
red then a blueish purple. Raynouds is an autoimmune disorder. Then I
developed eczema over about 80% of my body. I was sick and tired of
being sick and tired. My new doc told me on several occasions that I
had a hyper sensitive immune system.

So I told myself if my immune system was the problem, what can I do to
improve it? A friend told me about a book &#34;The Tao of Long Life, the
Chinese Art of Chang Ming&#34;. So I started to follow the Chang Ming diet
&lt;!--more--&gt;
and started feeling much better and my eczema cleared up. Then I went
camping and didn't follow the diet and broke out again. The
dermatologist told me that some people with eczema have gluten and/or
diary intolerance. What I found is that the protein in gluten is very
similar to the protein, casein, in milk. I've been off gluten &#38; dairy
for 3 months and no more eczema. Had some dairy over the weekend as a
test and am itching like crazy.

I also take Enzymedica Digest to help my digestion, flax oil and
spirulina. My asthma is so much better, my arthritis hardly bothers
me, I've lost weight, I have more energy and my memory is back (my
kids were teasing me incessantly about not being able to remember
anything). My co-workers tell me I look healthy and I feel healthy.

This has worked wonders for me but unfortunately eczema is not caused
by the same thing for all people. The diet is really difficult as
gluten and dairy are in most foods. Also, processed sugars are a
trigger so I avoid those as well. I'm learning new things to eat all
the time.

This is one of those things that anyone can try that won't cost a
fortune. Maybe it will work, if it does it is worth the dietary
sacrifices!

<description>Hello. That is why I joined this group also...........I don't have eczema,
however, I have skin issues........ I'm now wondering if it is a very mild
itchthyosis as it is only my hands, and they are never ithcy - only dry and
extra lines on palms...but so dry that nothing seems to help for a long amount
of time. This group is very supportive to all and they come up with ideas for
everyone if they can. Its nice to know that others relate to any type of skin
issues and the anxiety it causes when in public! Hang in
there........................ Have you found anything that helps you in the
treatment of your skin?
