Winter Flare-ups

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Hey everyone! Ive been a memeber of the group for awhile but never
really payed much attention to it. I finally read one of the hunderds
of emails I get a week and realized that there is some really useful
information on here.
I was told i had Eczema about 3 years ago and I am now 17.
Normally during the summer my eczema stays pretty well hidden and i
dont have break outs that much but during the winter i seem to break
out everywhere! As of now i have it on the back of my arms and my legs
are even worse. I have been using Elidel but seems that its not
working like it used to. Any new ideas on how to make the winter a
less itchy time?? Let me know!! Thanks!

Clorox Bleach - Wake Up!

CLOROX BLEACH IS NOT EVEN SAFE TO USE ON YOUR CLOTHES IN THE WASH!
HEADS UP!

I would second the high grade tea tree oil over the bleach. As for
the toxicity you don’t want to and won’t be ingesting it. It’s
perfectly safe topically. My frieds DS got a hold of her bottle of
tea tree oil when they were visiting friends and she couldn’t tell
if he drank any. We called poison control and were reassured he was
fine. You have to drink A LOT and most really high quality tea tree
oil comes in very small bottles.

Bleach on the other hand has lead to a friend of mine being treated

GLA for eczema?

Monday, May 29th, 2006

Finally found something that answers my concern about using an omega-
6 for eczema. As well as recommending a specific dosage. (I should
have my order of borage oil tomorrow - yippee, can’t wait to try
this!)

Q: GLA: The Right Remedy for Eczema?
You recommend gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) for eczema. Isn’t GLA an
omega-6 fatty acid that promotes inflammation? Wouldn’t it be better
to take omega-3s?

A: Answer (Published 11/21/2002)
GLA is an unusual fatty acid found in evening primrose oil, black
currant oil and borage oil that is very hard to come by in the diet.
It has specific nourishing effects on skin, hair, and nails that are
not duplicated by omega–3 fatty acids. I recommend supplemental GLA

more on bleach from new member

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

I’ve just been catching up on all the older posts since joining
and trying to learn new information but there has been a lot of
conflicting information on bleach so I thought I would give my own
experiences. There isn’t any chlorine left in the final bleach
although it is used in the manufacture. It is bubbled into a
solution of water and sodium hydroxide. All of the chlorine is
converted to a sodium hypochlorite solution and bleach is produced–
a 5.25 percent solution of hypochlorite and water. During use about
98 percent of the bleach breaks down into salt (sodium chloride).
This information is on the clorox web site.
I’ve been using clorox bleach for about eight years since
learning about the Parcells Nutrition Center and Dr Parcells’s
methods of improving health. One of the therapeutic baths
recomended is 1 cup of regular-brand Clorox bleach (with the blue
and white label) to a tub of water as hot as can be tolerated. Stay

Scratching !!!

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

Hi:
My name is Phyllis and I’m new to this group…I was diagnosed with
eczema about 3 years ago and I’m in my 40’s !!! Lucky me…but this
skin disorder has just ruined my social life..I rarely go out, I feel I
am just one big scab !! My doctor gives me some kind of steroid cream
and non…I find the only thing that really helps is tanning and that
can get expensive…My main question would be, what can I do about the
scratching…My head is the worse..I’ve tried shampoos, T gels..it
doesn’t work…I also have so many scars on my legs, it is
pitiful…any insight would be greatly appreciated…

Thanks… :/

Doctor said change soap/cleaners

Friday, May 26th, 2006

I took my daughter to the doctor for her eczema and the doc. asked
what I was cleaning with and bathing her with. She said that’s the
first thing she advises patients to change. I’m already using
hypoallergenic, free and clear products. What do you use?

Cream

I was wondering if anyone in the group has tried Triceram cream and
what kind of results they have found for eczema. I was thinking of
trying it for my son.
Thanks, Karena

Hello,

a juice. And it has curative properties for all kinds of maladies including
psoriasis. ( We saw a patient pictures before and after and it was interesting
to wee the improvements on psoriasis patients) I been fighting the disease for
seven years. However. The exponent was a R.Ph ( Registered Pharmacist) and
he explained the product using medical jargon he also mentioned opportunities,
about building a business it is MLM (multilevel Marketing) at the end of the
session I order one bottle for $ 32.00 I drank 4 ounces twice a day and
lasted one week. THe results are phenomenal I see that the patches on my back
and
legs are no longer visible, the skin is not as thick as it was before. I had
to atribute the healing improvement to this products called Xango.
