The healing begins but the ITCHING is so bad at night.
Is there something I can put to relieve the itching. Always at around
midnight while I am sleeping I wake up scratching my eczema. I am
gonna try wearing long gloves. Please help. I quit using lotions and
just put olive oil.

What about adding honey or even lavender essential oil to the olive oil?
Maybe others can comment on this.

Menthol usually helps itching. I’m not sure what product to suggest for it
though.

I tried so many different things. There is one thing that helped me
tremendously, but unfortunately it is a temporary fix and not what I would
consider holistic. It didn’t cure it, but it did heal it to a certain
extent. What I used and still do is Ponds Cold Cream for Dry Skin. I
apply just enough to get absorbed. The other thing I am finding works is
Grapefruit Seed Extract. I wet the area, which in this case is a little on
my elbow, rub in a couple of drops of GSE (Nutribiotics Brand), and then on
top of that when it dries apply pure virgin coconut oil. That seems to help
as well and gives me many hours of relief. It is also very healing.

I just thought of something else which might possibly relieve the itch.
More than likely, it has been discussed before, but bares repeating. This
is Ozonated Olive Oil. Although I have not tried it, I understand that it
is very healing for skin disorders of varying kinds. I haven’t seen it in
any stores, but I do see that it is readily available all over the Internet.
Maybe one of the group members has tried it and can recommend a good source

I tried a cream with menthol, it did feel sort of soothing but it made my
hands numb, and burned!!!! I didn’t use it again.

OUCH! Did you put it on raw skin? Make sure the cream is for itching and not
for muscle pain. The ones for muscle pain are very strong. Also I wouldn’t
bother trying to find one in a regular store because they probably contain
petroleum.

I don’t remember what it was, in a green tub but that could be anything. I
believe it said for eczema or something similar. The numbness was from the
menthol and sort of soothing but most things burn as my hands get very cracked.
I hate that most products burn! I once tried Apple Cider Vinegar cause people
were talking about it, man did that burn!!! I think I had diluted it too.
Surprisingly sea salt baths were ok but I haven’t done them in awhile. Not sure
if it helped any.

Apple Cider vinegar will burn like hell, but I think it does good things when
you’re really itching. Make sure to dilute it, tho’. It’s basically an acid,
isn’t it?
When I’ve used it, I’ve let my hands soak in a solution that’s about 5:1 water
to vinegar. More than that, I feel like I am going to take the skin off my
bones.
Afterwards, I rinse my hands off completely and put on lotion.
It’s kind of extreme, I think - and I rarely use it, but sometimes, the
itching is just that bad.
