Obesity - Weight - Eczema

I wonder if being overweight can cause Eczema. When I didn’t have Eczema I
would lose weight and my skin would look much better. I am just wondering if
how many in this group are overweight or not proportioned to their height??? I
mean it makes sense that having eczema shows that something is wrong with our
bodies. So far my hands are looking better. I am on a three month cleansing
program for the colon and whole body. I am not exactly going all the way
organic but I do eat lots of regular veggies and fruits along with not too good
foods like pasta once in awhile. I am taking Udo’s Choice Oil and vitamins. I
just think Eczema shows that something is wrong within and we just need to
correct it. I am sure I am deficient of lots of thing since I love junk food
and I did play with drugs when I was younger. I am sure that all those things
had to do with my Eczema today. I do hope everyone is doing well with their
skin or getting better.

I agree that the eczema problem is telling us that something is wrong inside
But I don’t think that obesity is linked to it. I’m 5′3" and weigh 113
lbs. I don’t think I’ve ever weighed more than 125 lbs in my life except
when I was pregnant 3 times. And I know some pretty obese people who seem
to have fairly nice skin. (Not all of them, but some seem to have better
skin than I do!) And I see some skinny people w/skin problems, too, for
that matter. To be sure there’s an imbalance somewhere, tho. I think it
has more to do w/how our bodies are able to eliminate and cope with
toxins–which channels our body uses to do that.

    I agree with Marla. I’m 5 foot 10, approximately 135 lbs. And I have
    eczema.

I bought some Jojoba Oil a couple of weeks ago and must say I am
impressed. I especially like Jojoba Oil because it’s not as "greasy" as
    coconut oil.

I get eczema around my eyes and the Jojoba is great for this because it
soaks in very fast and doesn’t make you look like you smeared grease on your
face. It’s definitely better than any "sensitive eye cream" I have ever
tried. (And I’ve tried a lot of them) I usually put it around my eyes and
let it soak in for at least 10 minutes before I put any makeup on. If it’s
still too oily for you, you can pat your eyes with tissue to remove access
oil. It’s definitely helped eczema related puffiness and scaling. (There
    isn’t any. Yay!)

I also have eczema on my scalp which is hard to manage but the Jojoba
oil is very soothing and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin/scalp at all.

Before I get in the shower I put some on the eczema patches on my body and
then before I apply conditioner I put it on the areas on my scalp again. I
also mix some with my Aubrey Organics White Camellia Conditioner. (1 part
Jojoba Oil to about 6 parts conditioner) I’ve found it doesn’t run down my
scalp and coat my body like coconut oil and doesn’t leave the tub super
    greasy like coconut oil.

Also: It is a GREAT eye makeup remover. I use waterproof mascara and it
takes it off easily with out having to tug on your skin. Also it doesn’t
irritate my eyes AT ALL. (Every other eye makeup remover does)

It’s also great to put a little on dry ends of your hair. It doesn’t weigh
    your hair down at all.

    So, that’s my 2 cents!

I was regular weight when I first got eczema and now I am overweight due to
some medicine then made me gain weight however my eczema is the same as when
    I was regular weight.

I am over weight an I have it. The more weight I gain the more severe the break
outs. Never thought of this before. I will have to give it some thought.
