I have this in my files, great testimony!
Nathon’s skin (My son) Nathon had eczema from a few months after he
was born to 11 months. (Which was when this photo was taken 2001). We
had tried various different natural alternative products over the
months, which saw the eczema go but return a short time later, so
they never really worked and we DIDNT get our money back! In our
frustration we went to the doctor who suggested we try a cortisone
based crhme. Although we were told by the doctor it could damage his
skin, we decided to try it as a way to ease his condition.Fortunately
Melaleuca launched and we had the chance to use their range of
products.
Using the Melaleuca Renew product we applied this crhme to his face 3
times a day, we also bathed Nathon in water which had Renew bath Oil
The results? 4 weeks and his skin was perfectly clear!
But that was the external only; know that to treat this condition you
need to get to the internal! That is to get rid of all those
chemical/caustic based cleaners out of the house! What we did was
converted our home over using the Career Pak, 60 products! Hey
although costing $679.00 in NZ we knew that if they did not work we
would just send them back for a full refund, thats right! Get our
money back!
The products did work; Once we got rid of those awful caustic based
products, and used the Renew and Melaleucas natural cleaning range,
from floor cleaners to laundry liquids, Nathons eczema never returned
and remains clear to this day (2005).
I have since realised that you can not use Melaleuca products half
heartedly when you have someone in your family suffering from eczema;
you have to go the full distance and convert your home over to the
wellness range
I then decided to share my story with others and within 5 months
reach Senior Director and in 2 years, reached Executive Director

I’m sorry, but does this sound like Amway or any other number of pyramid
marketing schemes you’ve ever heard of?
Not to put too fine a point on it, but I really am not happy when this list is
used to simply market products. Nor am I any more likely to buy them.

Your right nobody likes to be scamed to buy products or join a pyramid
scheme. But I am posting this to tell you something different. Yes,
this does involve a pyramid company but only you can decide for
yourself if I am here telling my story to help or make money. First
off I am not here to make money. I live in Japan and it would be
pretty difficult to get you signed up. Ok, now onto our eczema
breakthrough.
The company is called Melaleuca. I have seen quite a few people
posting about it. Let me recap my situation since I have not posted
for awhile. My son 2 1/2 years old now suffers severe eczema since he
was 6 weeks old. We have used it all. I even tried the natural ways
with no success. My son has eczema from head to toe. There has never
been a day in his life that he was eczema free.
I was told about Melaleuca and I was not interested at all in a
pyramid company. Finally they had a promotion where I could join for
$1, and I gave in and figured I would try their products. They also
have a 60 day money back guarantee. I had already tried so many
different things already I may as well give it a chance.
I started off using the bath oil and Renew lotion on my son. This did
help some and I was seeing some improvements but slowly. I did see
dramatic results until I started using the Gold bar soap and a topical
gel called Melagel. I use the oil in his bath every night along with
the soap, I put the renew lotion on him 1 or 2 times a day and if he
has any really "bad" spots I put a little melagel on that and lotion
on top.
I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful his skin is looking. The
eczema is clearing up great. His skin has never looked better in his
whole life. It has not cleared up completely but it is about 75%
better than it used to be. I am very happy with this company and will
tell anyone about it who suffers with eczema. I had eczema myself but
grew out of it I guess and I know how it feels to have it and how
horrible it is to see your child scratch himself so badly that he
bleeds all over.
If you have any specific questions for me let me know. Like I said I
am not posting this in order to get your business I am doing it to
help. Anything I can contribute to this site is what I am here for.
Good luck to each of you on this Eczema free journey.

K,
Melaleuca is NOT a pyramid company. We are NOT multi-level marketing. We are
in consumer direct sales. Please get your facts straight as this is how
misinformation gets around. Melaleuca has an awesome reputation and these kinds
of comments hurts us in so many ways! Otherwise I applaud your efforts in trying
to inform those who really deserve to know the truth and would benifit from
melaleuca’s products. I love melaleuca and their whole program. They have saved
my life in so many ways. Financially, physically and menatally..I can’t say
enough about them and the healing power of their products. I will NEVER go back
to store bought chemacles that contain poisons that has overloaded my system in
the past. I refuse to allow big brand name company’s to lie to me by telling me
their products are safe and better when in fact their products are dangerous and
expensive and do not work as they say. My children deserve a healthy future and
I plan on spreading the word about big pharma
company’s killing us with their high cost drugs that cause worst damage than
what their supposed to fix all in the name of money and company’s that use
formaldehyde, phosphates and a number of other known poisons that the human body
just can’t tolorate. Am I angry that my child is exposed day in and day out to
the poisons being pushed as "SAFE?" YES I am. It hurts me to know that children
and adults are suffering and don’t know why but fortunatly I found a company
with integrity and morals and they actually give a hoot about us. By
redistributing the opportunity allows family’s like mine to make it in this
overpriced place that I live called CA. I will get off my soapbox now…I am
sorry if I offended anybody but the truth needs to be told not misconceptions.

Melaleuca is an MLM company or else half a dozen people would not
have tried to recruit me and no one but your company itself would
profit from your buying. You have a sponsor, right? Your sponsor
profits from you. This is referred to as MLM (multi-level
marketing). It is not a scam nor an illegal pyramid. It is a
legitimate form of business and why shouldn’t someone earn on the
time it takes to explain all the different products and benefits?
You don’t need to feel bad or guilty about it!
Big companies like Proctor and Gamble have to pay a myriad of
middlemen and advertisements and shelf space. MLM companies don’t,
so they pay their distributors a small amount of money for
recommending the products to new customers. This is a great way to
do business. The best products in my house are from various MLM
companies. Thanks to them I have great skin, sleep better than most
people and have lots of energy.
The world’s top financial advisors recommend MLM. People like
Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Bob Proctor, David Bach, Paul Zane
Pilzer, etc. have all promoted the idea of MLM whether personally
involved or not.
Why would the fact that Melaleuca is MLM hurt anyone? It’s the very
reason they’re such a successful company! Tea tree oil has gotten
rid of my athlete’s foot in a couple of days and I have used some of
the Melaleuca cleaning products at one of my former jobs. It did a

Awesome comments!!!! Ok, ok…..you are right in some instance but there is a
difference that most people arn’t aware of. First we are NOT distributors. In
other words I do not SELL the product, I promote it, I do not take cash for the
products nor do I deliver the products to my customers. I simply refer them, get
them involved and promote the products to them and update them on new
developments. I like to call myself a healthy shopping coach lol or a social
entruprenuer…the company does the paperwork, the delivering, ect. ect,
ect….that is the difference. It isn’t much difference but it makes a huge
difference to me and my crew. I love what you said though. I love these
products. I pay less, they are of a better quality, they are delivered right to
my door and I have the option to promote if I choose and make a little income
for myself and my family all for one price. Melaleuca isn’t the only company I
do business with because the service/product is so much better than over
priced products on the shelf but it is the only product(s) I choose to promote
activly with a purpose because of their healing and life changing qualities that
I have seen first hand…not only that, this company pays really well and has
the best training and the biggest heart I have ever seen in this industry. Their
customer service is second to none and their bussiness support is like none
other. I hope all of you have a Happy Sunday!!!! God Bless-

Well said Sharon ..
Personnaly I felt the same away about MLM as alot of people do because my first
experience was unpleasant.. It was costly and the training and support was
costly.. Almost felt like i was paying to work for them.
I left it for years until I was introduced to a product that helped me and I am
happy I joined up into a MLM business again because this one really makes me
smile. I like dealing with people directly and love helping people heal
themselves.
I understand if people have been scammed or burnt before but that can happen to
you working for any company or selling any product MLM is just like any other
business.
I put so many hours into my psoriasis website and my studies on health and into
this new MLM and as soon as people reccommend a product they think you are afer
there money. Well who pays for the website , who pays for me to do these things?
My work is very slow and I dont have hardly any money atm , just enough to get
by.. If somsone cvould help me with what i wanted its very simple you have to
pay.. I offer a free psoriasis guide for people suffering with psoriasis at my
site. I used this protocol to heal me. I do mention one product in there because
yes I want to earn money for my time and yes I believe in this product.. and I
sitll get annoyed by people who send me emails that I am after there money, it
really hurts your feelings after you put in your blood sweat and tears..But I
carry on and try help those in need. thats my true reward

I am a skeptical person. I don’t mean to disparage any product that works, but
can you tell me how or why it’s working? One thing that always trips off my
Miracle Cure radar is when something makes claims without saying why… Nothing
I saw on the Melaleuca.com website seemed too different than many other claims I
have seen on other product sites.
And it has sounded like an MLM from the outset. I don’t disagree with that,
what I really disagree with is this forum being used to sell products as opposed
to being a place where we can help each other to solve our problems. I think
that line may get fuzzy, but I think that distinction needs to be made.
But belive it or not, I mean to be constructive here. I’m suspect of any
mass-produced products because I keep seeing the same chemical properties coming
up. If these products are good & then work, then great. MLM has been
successful in many companies and many people know somebody with a garage full of
Amway products.
but still - I’m open minded. what’s working here?

Hello All
With all respect I see many points of view. I do not see why if something is
working for someone we can not share that experience. All of us are
consumers and we buy everyday different products to live with.. So what I am
trying to say is share at one point can become advertisement? We are adults
and we can experience by ourselves what is more convenient for us.
Sorry about what I am saying but like everybody else it is my point of view.
Thanks,

hi I’m a bit of a lurker here i read but rarely post anything, i have gotten
alot of information here that has been great and now use tee treeoil and
jo-joba oil regularly on both myself and daughter thanks to posts here. my
eczema is mostly stress related but daughter’s is chronic. from our
experience what you put on your body and what you take is only part of the
solution. diet is the key. yes its hard. my daughter loves her wheat
products and her processed foods and so do I. but its a choice we make
everyday. eat that piece of bread and you will itch for days! we have gone
from her being totally covered head to toe to a few largish patches on body.
we are slowly winning the war. we try to watch everything we eat as well as
what we put on our bodies. and the whole family is feeling better too. I
have not heard of any of these juices people talk about. maybe they are not
available in Australia but we do have pro-biotics.

You know, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking: I have never heard of these
products.
I have been shopping for and using holistic and natural goods for 20 years and
I have never heard of Melaleuca. I’ve been on the buying committee of a food
coop and never heard of these products. I have been looking at products like
these and I have never heard of Melaleuca before.
They claim to have been around for 17 years and offer a massive line of
products, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen the words “Melaleuca” and
“eczema” together in the same sentence (if you search for the two of them on
google, this conversation is the first on the list of results).
This makes me suspicious when I suddenly hear that they have the solution to
the problem I’ve had all these years.
Then I hear that people are signing up to sell their products to get a discount
and it sounds just like Amway. I’ve bought Amway products and they’re actually
very good – but 99% of the people selling Amway never make a profit. They sell
to friends and neighbors and then wind up with a garage full of Amway. The 99%
is quoted on many web pages and my brother is one of those people with a garage
full of Amway.
Melaleuca has at least a hundred products yet I’ve never heard of the company
in any health-related forum or publication.
So…
Maybe this stuff works and maybe it doesn’t. I’ve never heard of it and I
wouldn’t sell it.
I have never known or heard of anyone being able to make a living or even
making a profit from an MLM. Please somebody, prove me wrong - I’d be very
happy for anyone making money this way, but for the overwhelming majority, this
isn’t the case.
I don’t want to derail the conversation. I just don’t want to see anyone taken
advantage of.
Keith
PS for the record, I think advertising vs. advertisement is really when it
becomes m ore about selling the product than helping find a cure. I’m not sure
where Melaleuca is, but it seems pretty close to the line.

I didn’t realize that my post about the Melaleuca
would cause such a problem. I mean really I didn’t ask
anyone to call me on the phone while getting an enema
or anything. (LOL) But anyways, I never once told
anyone to email me or call me if they wanted more
information. Listen I have been struggling with Eczema
for 30 years. Then when my son was born he developed
it from head to toe at 6 weeks old. I hate complain
cause I know so many other people have worse problems
than this but, this Eczema has been nothing but a
nightmare to deal with. I slept with my son the first
year of his life so he wouldn’t itch himself to a
bloody mess. I have cried many tears in frustration
and agony trying to find something to help him have a
more normal life. He is 2 1/2 years old and I can’t
put him in shorts and we don’t go out to play very
often.
I have been a member of this group since Aug. 2005 and
I have tried many different things to help my son. We
have always had to resort to topical steriods because
nothing would help his skin. Someone talked to me
about Melaleuca and I didn’t want anything to do with
a MLM company. I decided to try since I had already
tried many different things and spent money on other
things that didn’t have a money back guarantee like
Melaleuca. So, I joined in Jan. 2006. I have been
using the products for a few months now and all I can
say is that they have helped my son’s skin. You ask
how and why.. Well like I said he has severe Eczema
from head to toe. Since using the products his skin is
much more clear. Of course this is not a miracle
product and it did not make his Eczema go away. But
what it did do for us was help his skin so much that I
haven’t used any topical steriods on his skin in about
6 weeks. Last time I stopped using the steriods for
about a month his skin was one of the worst I had ever
seen it and we had to use the steriods. The tea tree
oil in all of their products seemed to help it heal
faster.
The point of my post is to tell you that this has
helped me and my son with our skin. Now, if you choose
to believe me or not is up to you. Like I said in my
other post I am not trying to sign anyone up on
Melaleuca and I will never ask you to call or email me
for more details. If you chose to do that on your own
then fine. I have never even signed up one person. I
don’t even plan on making a business out of it. I am
just pleased to have found something to help mine and
my son’s skin.
Honestly, Eczema is very frustrating on a young child
and I have almost gone crazy. It is very stressful and
when my son itches it drives me so crazy. I have
yelled and even spanked him for itching. It has been
the hardest thing in my life that I have ever had to
deal with. I am just happy to have found something
that helps us and keeps him off those horrible
steriods. It has also helped my sanity because he is
not as itchy and I don’t have to worry about it as
much.
Now please do not use my posts to talk about how I
might be trying to scam you. I am not and that is not
my intention. My son and I both suffer from Eczema and
I would NEVER use that as leverage to make a buck.
Eczema is difficult, embarassing, painful mentally and
physically and I know from experience. Believe me if
you want!
I am truly concerned with my families well being and
if some information that has helped us might be useful
to you well then I share it and vise versa.
Thanks for listening!
A truly concerned mother!

Today, this website owner received the following letter from Melaleuca’s Vice
President and General Counsel, Kenneth J. Sheppard.
Re: Melaleuca, Inc.
MLMSurvivor.com
Dear Ms. Carter:
We have reviewed the information contained in your MLMSurvivor.com web site
under the title "Melaleuca Distributors Sue their Upline and the Company." We
note the disclaimer on your home page which states that the site exists "to
provide factual information for prospective and current MLM distributors," and
to give people "a chance to get all the facts before they spend their time and
their money." You also state that, to the very best of your ability you present
accurate information. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify certain
false and misleading information contained in your report on the Holten v.
Melaleuca lawsuit so that you can revise your report to truly provide factual
information.
The Holten v. Melaleuca lawsuit was brought in a Texas state court in Houston.
The principle plaintiff was Mr. Jim Holten, a resident of a suburb of Houston.
The case was tried before a jury comprised of 12 people who live in the Houston
area. The plaintiffs were represented by well qualified counsel and were given a
fair and impartial trial. The jurors heard evidence from both sides, were given
the opportunity to deliberate on the evidence and found no wrongdoing on
Melaleuca’s or any of the other defendants’ part.
Please bear in mind that statements taken from the Complaint are mere
allegations made by plaintiffs and their attorney. Given the outcome of this
case, your restating the plaintiffs’ allegations as if they are fact is false,
misleading and libelous. For example, you state that "Melaleuca, on the other
hand, represented its retention rate to be a whopping 94.5 percent!" Melaleuca
did not and does not make that representation. The jury agreed. Such allegations
were rejected by the jury and should no longer be asserted as either allegation
or fact. What Melaleuca does accurately report is that, on average, 95% of the
customers who ordered from us last month will order again this month.
Additionally, Melaleuca’s 95% monthly reorder rate does not equate to a 66%
annual dropout rate as you claim. Your statement concerning alleged confessions
by the Hagens at a large meeting are also based on mere allegations that, again,
were not proven at trial. In fact, the claims against the Hagens
were dismissed from the lawsuit before the case ever went to the jury.
Your mentioning Kim Holten’s suicide is unfortunate and insensitive. Kim
Holten’s death had nothing to do with Melaleuca. Mr. Holten’s misguided claims
regarding is [sic] wife’s suicde were dismissed before the trial even started.
Finally, Melaleuca did not terminate any distributors’ businesses arbitrarily
and without just cause. Each of the plaintiffs whose Melaleuca businesses were
terminated had seriously violated Melaleuca’s policies. The plaintiffs received
several hundred thousand dollars in compensation from Melaleuca while they were
actively promoting their Melaleuca businesses. Therefore, they did have plenty
to show for their efforts. Ironically, two of the plaintiffs actually
re-enrolled with Melaleuca after pursuing a competing business opportunity.
Your conversations with two persons present at the trial did not reveal
anything to you about the judge’s behavior, except the opinions of two people
who were not pleased with the outcome of the case. The judge acted wisely and
honorably in upholding her responsibilities as an adjudicator of the law
applicable to this case. Had she not done so, the plaintiffs would have had
ample grounds to appeal the decision in this case. The plaintiffs did not do so.
We respectfully request that you honor your stated commitment to present
accurate information by removing the false, misleading, deceptive and libelous
statements about Melaleuca and revising your report about the lawsuit in the
light of the above information.
If you have any further questions about this case please feel free to call me
at 208-522-0700.
Sincerely,
Kenneth J. Sheppard
Vice President and General Counsel
Mr. Sheppard’s letter mixes fact (some of it irrelevant) with opinion as if
both are equally weighty. He takes statements which are clearly summaries of the
plaintiffs’ petition, and accuses me of publicizing "false and misleading
information."
In fact, the article clearly states the disposition of the case, as well as
summarizing the plaintiffs’ complaint and giving my own opinion of certain
elements of the case.
However, Mr. Sheppard would like me to publicize his (in other words,
Melaleuca’s) version as if it were fact.
As someone who routinely receives large numbers of complaints about a variety
of MLMs, I am just as entitled to have — and to express - my point of view as
Mr. Sheppard is to express the point of view of his employer.
know the facts
I have been shopping for and using holistic and natural goods for 20 years and I
have never heard of Melaleuca. I’ve been on the buying committee of a food coop
and never heard of these products. I have been looking at products like these
and I have never heard of Melaleuca before.
They claim to have been around for 17 years and offer a massive line of
products, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen the words “Melaleuca” and
“eczema” together in the same sentence (if you search for the two of them on
google, this conversation is the first on the list of results).
This makes me suspicious when I suddenly hear that they have the solution to the
problem I’ve had all these years.
Melaleuca has at least a hundred products yet I’ve never heard of the company in
any health-related forum or publication.
So…
Maybe this stuff works and maybe it doesn’t. I’ve never heard of it and I
wouldn’t sell it.
I have never known or heard of anyone being able to make a living or even making
a profit from an MLM. Please somebody, prove me wrong - I’d be very happy for
anyone making money this way, but for the overwhelming majority, this isn’t the
case.

Hello All;
It is a shame that this group it is becoming a battlefield, but I understand
that you need to straight up things in order of not to get people confused.
Everybody can talk or say based on their experiences, but please do not
"accuse" products or anything related; give testimonials that is why we are
here, to inform and support. Let’s make this clear we are humans and
something that works for you it does not mean that it this going to work for
me.we are different!!! That is why nature has colors.for all the tastes.
This is my opinion and I expect not to hurt any feelings with this.

we are slowly winning the war. we try to watch everything we eat as well as
what we put on our bodies. and the whole family is feeling better too. I
have not heard of any of these juices people talk about. maybe they are not
available in Australia but we do have pro-biotics.
