Fw: Re: [eczemapsoriasis] un-petroleum, burt’s bees, mymamaslove

That’s great to hear that you found something that you can use to replace
the cortisone. I think that will be much better for your child in the long
run.

I just wanted to comment that I was one of the people that was doing well
w/the Burt’s Bees products. Alison had mentioned that the Coconut Foot
Cream worked for her face. So I used it, and it worked great for me. But
now that my skin is healing, I’m finding that the Coconut Foot Cream is too
thick to use during the day, so now I’m using the Carrot lotion which is
much thinner, and less greasy looking. Feels so much better now! I guess
what I’m trying to say is that when the skin starts to heal and become more
normal, then you don’t need the creams to be so thick. My husband has
fantastic skin and doesn’t even need to use lotion at all. His skin is
neither dry or oily. I hope to get like him soon.

Thanks for sharing, and good luck w/your son’s skin!

I wanted to thank everyone for suggestions on what natural products to use
on
my son’s skin.
The unpetroleum is great. Thick, stays on, hardly any ingredients. Burt’s
Bee’s are great too. Few ingredients. Smell great but doesn’t quite stay
on
as well.

I think the sample I got was mymamaslove. That has hardly any ingredients,
but my sample was rancid. I think maybe if they included Vit e in it, it
would help preserve the oil and not go bad. I prefer to buy handmade but
can’t
get passed the rancid smell.

We just stopped using 1% hydrocortisone and iodine type med on his skin. I
dread a flare up. The itching and crying is very upsetting but I can see
the
cortisone really doesn’t help. It just masks.

My son had a dairy allergy which he "grew out of". He got a rash on his face
from dairy. We are taking wheat away now to see if it helps with his rash.
If not we will move on to other foods first.

His dermatologist said it is not an allergy because the rash would be all
over his body. But his milk rash was just on his face. Doctors get on my
nerves! He also told me he has a heat rash on top of the eczema which is
so
stupid it enrages me.

He looks like he has something on top of his eczema but it is not a heat
rash.
