Hi Margret:
Hope you enjoy the beach! Just wanted to comment regarding the spouse thing
I’ve seen other people with skin problems worse than mine, and they don’t
seem to have any spouse/partner problems. And even though at times mine has
gotten pretty bad, my husband has never, to my recollection, made me to feel
that he had any aversion to my skin even tho the condition has bothered me a
lot. And I, too, worried about there being an aversion and have told him
so. He tells me that it probably feels worse than it looks, and that he
hardly notices it at all. He’s very sweet, and I see that there are lots of
other guys like that, too. Try not to let your feelings about your skin
deter him from showing you physical affection. I think feeling bad about
your skin makes it worse for the guys. I know my husband doesn’t like it
when I’m down about it. Although I’m sure guys would love to have
supermodel partners, I find that there are also lots of guys who aren’t that
shallow. I had eczema that he knew about before we got married. There
were no skin surprises for him, and we’ve been married now for 18 years.
When he comes home from work, he usually greets me with, "Hi beautiful!"
(with eczema and all).
Take care!
Marla

i feel the same way with my boyfriend…even tho he understands sometimes i
feel embarrassed about my hands…i sometimes wear gloves and he doesn’t say
anything…it doesn’t bother him but it bothers me…i have to give him credit
coz i think some people would not even give us a chance if they see our
condition
