DUST MITES & MOLD

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Hi,

I just wanted pass along information that many of you may know
but I will pass it along again. Dust mites and mold are big culprits
in eczema.

*I have recently bought casings for my mattress, box spring and pillows
to keep them away from my skin. Their droppings are what irritate our
skin…yuk and the more we can stay away from them the better. Go to
Target or WaL-Mart for the "casings".

*Mold. The black mold that forms along your shower walls and mainly
the ceiling. Clean it ofetn. Use 3/4 cup of bleach per gallon of water.
Buy the cheap white shower liners often and wipe them down.

Eye Eczema

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Hi,

Does anyone here get eczema on their eyelids or skin above the eyelids?
I’ve had this for around 7 months now and it’s really starting to get
me down as nothing seems to work effectively. Does anyone have any
ideas?

I’ve tried cutting down on the amount of cream i use as sometimes i
feel it is only aggrivating my eczema.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike.

new to group also

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Hi, I am also new to this group and hoping to glean some helpful information
from those of you who have traveled this road before me.

I have psoriasis on my scalp and it drives me crazy. I tried Olux and it
worked for about two weeks. I have found I am allergic to coal tar shampoo and
it
left me with rashy blisters on my neck and chest for three days after use. I
have another dermatologist appointment today. The last time I was there he
gave me a steroid shampoo, which I began to read the brochure after I had the
prescription filled. Since I was due to have a pain block for my lower back I
thought I’d better call the dr. before using. He told me not to use it but to
return to him after the block.

If anyone has successfully treated psoriasis of the scalp I’d be appreciate
of your input.

STOP EATING GLUTEN !!!

Monday, December 18th, 2006

I have suffered on and off for years and most recently had a serious
flare up. I just stopped eating gluten products (bread, crackers,
cereal) and hot oatmeal and my eczema has cleared up dramatically in
only 3 days. I saw a story on the news about autism and gluten free
diets and the young boy has suffered with eczema and his Mom said
four days after starting the diet it has cleared up !!!

I do think that oatmeal (and I called the company to confirm the
gluten) was a big culprit. I was eating it 2 times a day. I am also on
a dairy free diet consuming lots of veggies.

Best wishes.
Maggie

Flax Oil and Acidophilus

Can anyone vouch for the effectiveness of either flax oil or
acidophilus in dealing with eczema?

Acne Treatment should begin with a Change in Your Diet:

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

If you suffer from acne, here is a `letter’ from a former Acne
patient to you to offer the most effective yet common sense acne
treatment to "zap those zits!"

Dear Friend,

As the Father of Medicine; Hippocrates once stated: "Let your foods
be your medicine, and your medicine your food"

It will be an understatement to say he is correct and had I known of
this during my close to a decade of marring acne and sheer waste of
money on so-called acne products, perhaps my life-at that time-would
have been much happier.

Well, now that I do know, with the staggering number of acne patients

Candida and Probiotics

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

A few questions for the group, if I may.

1) For those who have tried the Candida diet, what type of results did
you have?

2)For people who have tried Probiotics, which one(s) did you take, for
how long, and what results did you have?

Thanks,
Chris

The only thing that has helped our Eczema

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Hi Everyone..

I wanted to share my story again. I have told our situation before but
see a few new people posting. I’m female 32 years old and had severe
Eczema as a child. I grew out of it with a few flare ups here and
there but I also have extremely dry skin. My son is 2 1/2 years old
and develped severe Eczema at 6 weeks old. From that day we have been
trying everything to help him. I had to use topical steriods on him
almost everyday to keep it semi under control to where he could
function. Season changes are the worst for our allergies and skin. We
tried: steriods, freederm, vaseline, aquaphor, dml lotion, elidel,
protopic and the list goes on. I joined the group looking for help. I
also tried to go all natural and used coconut oil, olive oil and
essential oils with no luck. My poor boy was covered head to toe with
the most horrible Eczema.

What are the best soothing substances for damaged skin ?

Friday, December 15th, 2006

I seem to be allergic to so many ingredients, like lanolin,
petrolatum, and who knows what else. What are your favorite healing
substances to put on after the scratching, after the washing, before
the moisturizer? What HEALS the damage?
