Candida Diet

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

I have seen so many variations of the Candida Diet online. So many
seem to contradict one another when it comes to certain foods. It is
very confusing. Does anyone know of a link to a reputable site that I
can follow?

I was cured of eczema for 6 years out of 53, but why?

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

I have had eczema my whole life, 53 years, except for 6 years living
in Hawaii, from age 22-28. It disappeared, a miracle! Was it the sun,
the ocean, something not in the public water supply? Since then, the
eczema has returned with a vengeance, so I have wondered and wondered
about my 6 years of peace. During that time, I did not curb my diet
at all, and in fact I was a fairly heavy consumer of alcohol and
tobacco. But here is a possible answer ….

For my six years in Hawaii, I worked as a tour manager, living in
hotels the entire time, and changing hotels at least once a week.
That means my bed linens were changed very frequently, often daily. I
bet I never slept on the same sheets more than two nights in a row!

So now I’m wondering if my whole problem is dust mites or somesuch
that live in bedding.

Ice Relief

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Hi All-

I read the other day that someone had gotten some relief from
icepacks. I have never tried ice before and was wondering if anyone
else uses ice for relief? Does it help with the itching?

Thanks.

I’m new - have 12-year-old son with newly-developed eczema

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

My name is Karen, and I’m new here. About a month ago, my 12-year-old
son, who has always seemed very healthy and rarely gets sick, suddenly
developed red scaly marks all over the backs of his lower legs. They
were very rough in texture. His pediatrician diagnosed it as eczema
and prescribed a topical cream called Dermatop, to be applied twice a
day for ten days. At the end of the ten days, the redness was mostly
gone, but the roughness was still there. About a week later, I noticed
some smaller red marks on his thighs. He had just started playing
lacrosse, which is a contact sport, so I attributed it to getting hit
by sticks in practice. But a few days later, there were many more of
these marks. I suspect that this is also eczema. I was about to call
the doctor back, but I started thinking that I’d be better off looking
for a more natural way of treating it.

I know that eczema is an auto-immune disease. We do have other types

Gene hope for eczema sufferers
By Nigel Hawkes, Health Editor

THE gene that causes dry skin and predisposes people to eczema and
asthma has been identified by scientists.
The discovery could lead to new treatments for conditions that
affect millions of people, and was welcomed yesterday by a range of
charities concerned with skin conditions.

According to researchers at the University of Dundee, the gene is
the one whose job it is to create the protein filaggrin, which is
normally found in the outermost layers of the skin. The protein is
vital to ensure that the skin forms a barrier to keep water in and

question about hair removal

>I too think that exzema has something to do with
> hormones.
definitely has something to do with hormones! my daughter had it as a baby
and we got rid of it at about 5 only to have it return at 10 with all the
lovely hormone stuff! the only relief we have is that the Dr told her people
with Eczema don’t usually get acne. is this true? i have never got rid of my
own acne completely and suffered terribly as a child but have eczema on
hands for about 5 yrs now. also have it on elbows too in the last 6 months.
we have been using Teatree oil recently (no particular brand) and although
it stings and she cries every night the difference is amazing. it doesn’t
work as quick as the old steroid creams we used to use before we knew
better but her skin is beautiful as the rash gets smaller. no more leathery
patches and white spots left behind after the rash is gone. we used to think
that was scarring from eczema but we know now that it was the creams that
did that. she still has it all over her legs and bottom but only a few

Free eczema report - skincare and diet

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Hello everyone,

I don’t actually have eczema myself, but my stepdaughter and 2 nephews
do suffer, so I have been trying to find out as much info as I can.

I have found this report by an expert on skin conditions who tells you
about eczema, and in particular gives excellent tips on skincare and
diet.

It is really informative and I think you will find it interesting.

Don’t fotget to check your junk mail as well, as it may be interpreted
as spam!

Best wishes

hi
i have had eczema all my life. i have tried everything i can think of
to try and cure it. i mainly have it on my hands and feet but often i
get itchy all over. at night i have to go to bed with ice packs
because i itch so much. i have tried naturpathy, accupuncture,
homeopathy, conventional medicine, elidel, cortisones (which i still
have to cream all over twice a day) and nothing seems to cure it,
just control the symptoms for a while. at times i get really down
about my skin, but mostly i just try to go about my daily life with
as much positivity as possible.
thanks for this group. i can’t wait to learn more about this
condition.

New to the Group from Ridgeland Mississippi

Hello everone,
I read some of the postings about Melaleuca and I would like to
share a personal story about the Renew lotion. Renew is one of my
family’s FAVORITE products. In fact, it was the first Melaleuca
product I used. My 6 year old daughter had suffered from eczema
since she was an infant. Her arms and legs looked horrible as there
were raw spots all over from being so dry. She had trouble sleeping
becauce she would itch and scratch all night. I, of course, tried
tons of different prescription creams and lotions on the market but
nothing healed her or gave her any relief.
I was very skeptical when we looked at Melaleuca . I thought, "If
these products are so great, why had I not heard of it?" I tried
the RENEW on Kaylee.

The next day, her skin was literally 70 to 80% better. My husband

Eczema Flare Up

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Hi…my name is Maggie. I live in the northeast and I have suffered
with eczema on and off for 20 years. It’s been severe and widespread
on my body for the last 2. I am in my 30’s. I was trying to heal
naturally through a raw/elimination diet as well as supplements but
recently had to go the steroid ointment/steroid shot/antibiotic route
due to a bad skin infection. I am off dairy and wheat and have done
the "avoid dust mite in the bedroom and everywhere else" thing but I
have to get skin tested by my allergist who is convinced it is allergy
related. I am fair skined and Irish..always wondered if ethnicity has
anything to do with it. My Mom & sister have one spot and my neice has
suffered since 2 years of age.

I am new to this group and would appreciate any suggestions. FYI -
great website www.eczema-natural-healing.com (woman suffered for YEARS
-lives in Seattle).
