Psoriasis and Pool Chlorine

Does anyone know the effects of chlorine on psoriasis? Is it harmful
or helpful or just plain neither?

Thanks,
Patty

I hope it works for you- i was hesitant when one of the ladies I met i the Derm
Office told me about it- but since then the summer months I spend alot of time
in water and in the sun- i dont use sun screen on any psoriasis areas because it
stings so badly and usually I come close to clearing up more so than with
medications- it also helps with the joint pain by the way. Good Luck to you

this may also be the additional sun exposure you are getting while in the
pool that is helping your psoriasis … :))

thanks! unfortunately, it’s an indoor pool, no sun

At one point I found that it helped. I probably had a secondary
infection that was killed off by the chlorine. Otherwise, I think it’s
slightly drying, so be sure to mosturize well afterwards.
