Psoriasis Red face

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Hi’

I’ve been having red face due to the environmental stress; HOt and COld I was
experiencing due to the weather in my country. When the weather is too HOt, I
have to run for cover, as I would really turn Crab Red with some tiny red dots
formation on my face when I am exposed too much under the sun. The same goes
when I am exposed too much to coldness in the air-conditioned seminar room.
Somehow, I do notice the difference in facial color between the HOt and COld
exposure. Below are my questions to all:-

Has anyone got the same experience?
Does environmental stress affects facial psoriasis?
Has anyone got any solution to control facial psoriasis (other than topical
steroid)?

My daughter and psoriasis

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

My daughter was diagnosed with psoriasis. This came after a series of
unfortunate treatments for what the doctors thought was fungus….I
won’t even begin to list all of the things that had happened to her.
But one thing that happened was she had, as I said, been diagnosed
with fungus and the doctors treated her with griseofulvin and she then
had what they call an ID reaction….she then broke out all over her
body with scaly patches and eventually would miss two months of high
school and ultimately was hospitalized for a week. After all the
misdiagnoses and treatments…she finally was diagnosed with
psoriasis. She would end up on cyclosporine and an antibiotic. She
has finally been taken off the cyclosporine but is continuing with the
antibiotic (because of the inflamation)… this psoriasis left her
body but stayed on her scalp. Now the doctor is taking her down from
the antibiotic. Instead of two pills a day she is now taking one. I
guess my question to the group is how do you improve one’s immune

Hello from a new member…. Psoriasis… Mother of the Bride!

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Hello All,

I was really pleased to find this group and I look forward to whatever
suggestions you might be able to give me.

I am 52 and my eldest daughter will be married in just under 4 weeks. I have
been trying to heal this psoriasis for over 2 months now. I had never had it
before except a tiny bit in my scalp 5 years ago that healed up pretty quickly
and all of a sudden it came on all over the backs of my hands. It looks some
better than it did in the beginning now but I have terrible bouts of just about
going near crazy and scratching it like mad which I KNOW is awful, and I’m
keeping them clean and have used all manner of things over the counter and now
herbal which seems to help but it won’t go away.

I am horrified to think I will be mother of the bride with this all over the

6 month old with eczema

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Hi all. I’m new to this group and new to the whole eczema issue. My
6 month old son was recently diagnosed with eczema. He has it pretty
much all over his little body and he’s been scratching away at his
skin until it bleeds. I keep mittens on him, but as soon as I take
them off and turn my back, he scratches. The dermatologist has given
me instructions on baths, skin care, etc. He has prescribed Cutivate
and hydrocortisone 2.5%. I hate using the cortisones on him, but
have applied them only because it breaks my heart to see him suffer
with the itching/discomfort. Anyway, I had been applying the
cortisone as directed and then applied only during flare-ups.
However, this morning after applying the 2.5% cortisone, my little
guy broke out in a bad allergic reaction - swollen face,
blotchiness, little blisters. He never showed signs of allergy to it
until today. It scared me so much and I am quite fed up with the
whole cortisone thing. It is obviously not a long-term solution. At
