Psoriasis on the feet
Hello Everyone,
I am new here, thank-you for letting me join! I have pustular
psoriasis on the bottom of my feet. I feel like I am the only person
in the whole world to have this, I am sure I am not. It took 4 doctors
to figure out what I have. Is anyone having any success with anything
other than steriods? I sure would appreciate any help. Di

Hi Di,
don’t post much here but yes, I have what the UK doctors term dermatitis on my
feet - skin coming off in sheets leaving raw skin. I am allergic to PTBPF
resin which is contained in modern shoe glues and neoprenes.
I have been through steroids creams and tablets and immune suppressants - one
of which did finally get rid of it but it came back as soon as I was weaned
off them and even the highest dose I was previously taking didn’t do
anything. I had PUVA light treatment but being fair skinned the UV rays burnt
the bottom of my feet - so no good.
After trying other immune suppressants they reached cycolsporine and that made
me so ill - pushing my blood sugar up off the scale , and my cholesterol and
swelling my gums so my teeth became loose, I stopped everything and felt like
a person again.
My feet are far better, as is my emotional state, without the drug
interventions and I have found ( and I know everyone will hold their hands up
in horror) that making sure that any build up of dead skin is removed by a
gentle scraping - especially after a bath when the skin is waterlogged, helps
tremendously and lashing of just plain aqueous cream.
I try not to get stressed ( ha! thats a fine thing) and my choice of shoes is
limited ( have them made by a renactor who uses no glue!!)
So the condition is managed rather than cured - but you’re not alone - and its
on the increase I’m afraid.
