Is it gone?
I am the mother to a three year old boy who has had eczema since he first turned
1. It goes
away in the summer. In the winter it has gotten so bad the he looked excoriated
(or burned)
on his entire torso. He also had round patches on his extremites.
This winter it has not returned. As it gets colder and dryer he has been
getting softer and
even the bumps are going away. We live in Alaska. Long, cold, dry winters
I am so relieved. It is horrible when your baby has eczema. I am afraid it will
come back.
Can it come and go?
Many of you on the list have helped me in the past and I am so grateful.
Thanks.

not to scare u but i had eczema when i was young - lotion was my salvation
when i found out that that’s is the way to do it until i reached my early 30’s
- my hands started to crack and it was very painful - so it can return - i
never had it in my hands but i had it under my feet but - that didn’t bother me
since nobody saw it - i suffered about 3 years - using dangerous ointments
which i wasn’t aware of and the damages it caused on our liver - so out of
desperation since my doctors thought of me crazy for crying out for help - i
did a lot of research - there are a lot of things you can do like take flaxseed
oil which i stopped doing - that was just awful tasting and not buttery like
some people in this group would say - i started taking evening primrose oil
in tablet form like 10 a day and i started using in-liven probiotic - i hate
repeating myself on this in-liven thing but it is what worked for me and if i
can help someone else then i would feel better about myself - i am not a
salesperson for this product so do not ask me - google it - altho like most
natural stuff - it will take a long time - i started taking in-liven in June
and
my hands have been getting better and better never worse and now it is about
80% gone - so just be patient with whatever natural healing you are going to
do and please be careful with quack doctors out there - there are people who
really wants to help and other who just want to make money on you - good luck
on your baby!

I believe it never goes away. I think somehow it does go into a type a
remission…but once you have a skin disorder you will always have it. We only
find ways to tame it.

I always have a humidifier and it was always in used during the hot summers here
in Texas. Currently, I am in remission with my eczema and to tell you the truth
I don’t know what I did. But for the last 5 months, I have had a normal life…
well close to normal skin. I do know with all the medications the doctors had
me on I decided one day that I was no longer going to take the meds and since
then I have been doing well with my skin. I am taking more care during the
winter. I only use Vaseline 2x a day. Good Luck everyone.
