Hi Wendy - -

thanks for writing... it is interesting you mention being hot, I have been
having this problem also but never really associated it with the psoriasis...

where did you find the John Plunkett Psor-Asist Cream ? I can only find it on
the internet from pharmacy sites in Australia... I bet that is where you live ?

I haven't heard any results from the rast test i took,,, however i did do my own
test...i do that alot, :),, anyway i ate a pkg of marshmallows in 2 days and it
made my hand break out. it only takes 12 hours.. corn syrup being the main
ingredient... so i believe i have a corn problem.. which is ok,, as long as i
stay away from it my hands keep pretty clear. i haven't had any popcorn for
months, or corn snacks.. i think i might indulge on new years eve just to see
what happens :)

Hi Kerry
I am a 46 year old female who has had pustular psoriasis for more than
2 years on my feet and palms of my hands.(Palmer/Plantar).
I tried every diet, lotion and potion both via scripts from my Doc and
on advice from Naturopaths etc. I also took methotrexate as a last
resort but took myself of this after 8 months. (My Derm was appalled
and was more appalled when I told him where to go literally.
Dollars and more dollars down the drain.)
With this type of psoriasis I also had a slight fever and just felt
hot all the time:-(not menopausal this I went through at 40.)
I used to cover my feet and hands in cortisone ointment then wrap them
in cling wrap over night as they were so dry and apparently this also
helped the cortisone to be abosrbed into the skin.
After the skin dried out it became like old leather so I used a pumice
stone on the skin "very gently" with my morning shower.
<!--more-->
One thing that helped me as I discovered was taking paracetamol to
help cope with the fever, inflammation and constant itching.
I was looking on the shelves of our local chemist for anything new in
the way of psoriasis cream and discovered a cream called John Plunkett
Psor-Asist Cream.
I purchased a 100g jar of this and thought here we go again more money
down the drain.
But no this cream actually worked for me. After 4 days the small
yellow pustules abated and the inflammation certainly was no where
near as bad as it had been. Now after 6 months I use the cream once a
day on my feet which still "dry out" and look red, after my morning
use of the pumice stone in the shower. My hands have totally cleared
up. May be I have just been very lucky in finding this product.
A great relief was actually exfoliating the skin and getting rid of
that "tightness" as I call it.

The more I stressed about my psoriasis (sometimes it was that bad on
my feet I could not walk) the worse I feel it got.
With stress came heat and a rise in body temp just made my PS explode.
(But also unfortunately I had the added fever with it as well:(

In conclusion I decided to eat what I want and stopped looking for
that "food, family history or plant" which I may or may not have been
allergic too. There are just to many variables.
I just learned to cope with it whilst I had it and thank my lucky
stars that I have found something that has helped me.

I am the only person that I know of that has had pustular psoriasis,in
my area, that has been lucky enough to have it abate somewhat.
I sincerely wish you good luck in your search but don't let it consume
you as it did me. Try and find a happy and comfortable median for
yourself (maybe paracetamol may help) who knows.

Best wishes Wendy

Corn is my worst enemy... Actually seeds in general, but corn, peanuts, & wheat
are the worst for me. They make my skin crawl, and cause to break out with
painful sores that don't heal.

I use a lot of sugar substitutes because corn syrup is the #1 sweetener here
in the states.

I have discovered through trial and error that popcorn, cornflakes,
any kind of snack chips with corn make it flare up..

That's exactly what you need, but get a blood test, not just a skin prick test.

Shelly
Mom to Atticus Xavier, 22 months

I have discovered through trial and error that popcorn, cornflakes,
any kind of snack chips with corn make it flare up.. I am not a rocket
scientist (although I do believe everyone has the ability to be one
about something:) but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the
correlation. I firmly believe that I must be allergic to corn ..or
perhaps something in the corn products...but there is still the home
cooked popcorn that makes it worse... so that blows the something in
corn products theory...i even think corn syrup is a problem... of
course my dr is skeptical..hahah... have to go see her just to get a
<!--more-->
referral to an allergist... I do beleive that will be my big answer..
the results of an allergy test....anybody have any feedback on this
current idea of mine ?? would be greatly appreciated... thanks, Kerry

Hi there,

I have found that most foods that contain white flour, most breakfast foods
that come in boxes, alcohol, sweet foods, surgar, coffee, fried foods and most
junk food effects my skin. There are books out there that can aid you with your
diet, however I have found that I need to eat healthly veges, some fruit and
small amounts of meat works best for me. Also plenty of water 2-4 litres a day.

Regards,

Nat
