elocon

Friday, May 18th, 2007

i’ve used this cream for over 15 years. it has been the only thing
to alleviate my eczema symptons. i’ve cut back on its usage and now
my body is covered with eczema. my face(neck, eyelids and back of
ears) looks so bad i feel like a monster. my skin is flaking so bad
that my face looks like a glazed donut. it is good that its winter
cause the backs of my knees and bends of my elbows look equally
nasty.
i’m considering seeing a dermatologist but still reluctant. i
finally have some health insurance so its at least feasible but the
elocon costs so much its still rather difficult.

what are the long term side - affects from using elocon? i’m having
to use it on more and more of my body, but its the only thing that
seems to work

Hello:

I had eczema when I finally when to the dermatologist 3 months ago. (I thought
I just severe allergies because of my excessive out door activities). I can tell
you that is very hard to deal with this and still have the Patience to deal with
a 2 year old and a husband that did not really understood my condition, I guess
now he see how I get when I have a break out and tries to help me by taking the
baby and giving me a few minutes to my self. I understand that the scratching
drives u nuts but believe me he has it worse and this is a real tester for your
relationship. I feel bad that my husband has to deal with a wife that is the
complete apposite to what he married. I know that is hard for him but like the
priest said "IN HEALTH AND IN SICKNESS".
When it comes to advising you, is probably what you old ready know. Taking
short baths, cetaphil soap and Vaseline when you come out of the shower and try
to keep the apt cool. The only thing that that I do is that I take evening

Water therapy

Monday, May 14th, 2007

After many years of psoriasis, and trying everything, psoriasis has cleared up
at a time of year (the beginning of winter) when it has always before been
rampant. Generally, about 30% of my body has been covered in large itchy scales.

For several weeks now, on waking, I have first brushed my teeth and then drunk
1 litre of water in about 10 - 15 minutes. That’s all!.

I hope it helps others like it has helped me.

Elidel/Protopic

Friday, May 11th, 2007

Has anyone here ever used Elidel or Protopic?

I used it on and off about 2 years ago and then stopped when I learned
about this advisory.

I’m in the middle of a flare up and am using strong cortisones
(diprolene, elocon) to clear it up. I hope to be off of them by this
Sunday; however, I wish there something out there I could take to keep
the eczema at bay.

allergy tests?

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Your primary care physician can recommend an allergist that can perform the
allergy test. Also your dermatologist can do certain tests, so check with each
doctor.

Hi,
Im 35 years old, and I have SD, for one year…it is very mild…but I
hate the way it looks.
My dermatologist prescribed denoside and ketoconazone…So, I’m trying
these…

I was wondering ,..what type of soap do you guys use to wash your face?
I have been afraid of using regular soap fearing that it would make it
worse…

another question…
Make up…Is there any make up out there, something that doesn’t
clogue your pores…speacial for people with SD?

you know, in some special ocasions, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to cover

Raw Food Diet

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Hi There,

I have been on a raw food diet for 11 days now and I am wondering when
does your eczema start to improve? Also, my ezcema is still bad and I
have to use protopic, will this affect the results of the raw food
diet l am on?

Are there certain foods I should avoid while raw? I have read that
acidic foods can make ezcema worse, is this true?

Would really really appreciate your help. I am extremely frustrated
with this whole condition.

Thanks

New book/hope?????

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Has anyone read a book called, ‘Say Good Bye To Psoriasis’ by Jim
Longnecker? He claims to clear psoriasis in 30 days! He gives no hints
to what includes apart from a psoriasis diet and some other things you
can buy at any shop. Its back by a 60 day money back garantee. Here is
one of his statements.

"I Personally Guarantee that this psoriasis treatment will work for
you! The only way it won’t work for you is if you do not follow the
simple directions! That is a BOLD statement, but I know that this
treatment method works 100% of the time so I’m putting my money on the
line and making it totally risk-free for you. I don’t know what could
be more fair! Do You?"

Smiling makes it worse–and winter approaches!

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

Mine seems to be a lot worse lately. I am not sure why. I think I’ve
probably been doing a lot of things to bother it lately–including
staying up late, pushing myself hard, being a litle stressed, and
cleaning really dusty areas– oh! and doing laundry.

Sometimes I think maybe I should hire someone to help me clean, as I
feel like such a nudge bothering my hubbie.

It’s hard for to pinpoint A) what’s causing the eczema flare ups
(right now, I have flareups on my left side of my face, inside of
right elblow, my right hand in lots of spots, and inside my left thigh).

I did stop taking my once a day flax seed oil pill and maybe that’s
what is causing it?
